FOOD SAFETY TEAMS CONDUCT INSPECTION ON HOSTELS AND PG'S. VIOLATION FOUND IN HOSTELS WITH OUT FOOD SAFETY
Food Safety teams, along with 'Food Safety on Wheels' vehicles, have conducted inspections in several hostels/PGs (both private and government) in the past two months across the state of Telangana.
A total of 387 hostels have been inspected and notices were issued based on the violations found during the inspections. Majority of the hostels were found to be operating without the required FSSAI license/registration. Further, unhygienic practices in food preparation and storage were noticed.
The concerned FBOs have been made aware of the statutory requirement of FSS Act, 2006 and instructed to apply for licenses immediately. Good practices in food preparation and storage, along with mandatory procedures as per the FSS Rules and Regulations, 2011 have been informed to the FBOs.
All hostel operators are hereby instructed to obtain FSSAI license and adhere to the FSSAI rules and regulations. For FoSTaC training and any guidance related to the FSS Act, one may contact the concerned food safety officer.

About ASHI, Haryana:
Association for Social Health in India (ASHI) is a Voluntary and Social Organization aiming at challenging those conditions that lead to exploitation of women and children for anti-social purposes by providing shelter for Destitute & Orphan children and arranging for their education, vocational training and rehabilitation are one of the Association’s main activities. The Governor of Haryana, their Chief Patron, visits the Home once a year to encourage and bless the children.
