किसान नेता सरवन सिंह पंढेर ने कहा, 'खनौरी और शंभू बॉर्डर पर मार्च का आज 17वां दिन है. हमें जानकारी मिली है कि (शुभकरण सिंह की मृत्यु के मामले में) आईपीसी की धारा 302 और 114 के तहत एफआईआर दर्ज़ की गई है... साथ ही आज हम मृतक (शुभकरण सिंह) के शव को खनौरी बॉर्डर पर ले जाएंगे और उनका अंतिम संस्कार उनके पैतृक गांव में किया जाएगा.'
