Ponda town and surrounding villages are hit by the nagging nuisance of dust pollution on a daily basis. Locals have demanded that the PWD and Electricity department clear the unwanted mud and other material dumped by the roadside which is not required and posing risk to school students. The road digging has been done for various development works including underground power cabling. Social Worker Viraj Sapre and Rocky Dias Tuesday complained to various authorities about dust pollution due to heaps of mud dumped by the roadside, but so far no action has been forthcoming from the authorities.
