Himachal government has announced in the budget to increase the daily wage of MNREGA workers from Rs 240 to Rs 300. That means it has increased by Rs 60. There are more than 12 lakh MNREGA job cardholders in Himachal. CM Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, while presenting the budget, has said that this is a historic increase. MNREGA workers whose annual income is less than Rs 2.5 lakh and have worked in MNREGA for 100 days in a year will be given Rs 3 lakh to build a house.

ग्रामीण मजदूरों के लिए वरदान रही मनरेगा योजना को मोदी सरकार ने गरीबों को प्रताड़ित करने का हथियार बना दिया है। गरीबों का खून चूसने वाली इस सरकार पर मनरेगा मजदूरों का 6157 करोड़ रुपए से ज्यादा का बकाया है।
2014 में गरीब विरोधी मोदी सरकार बनने के बाद से ही लाखों मनरेगा मजदूरों की हालत खस्ता हो गई है। उनके परिवार को दो वक्त की रोटी भी मयस्सर नहीं हो पा रही है। उनके बच्चों की पढाई-लिखाई पैसे के अभाव में बंद होने की कगार पर है। मजदूरों को एक साल में 100 दिन की जगह बमुश्किल केवल 48 दिन का ही रोजगार मिल पाता है।
मनरेगा कांग्रेस सरकार की उन शानदार योजनाओं में से एक है, जिसे देश की गरीब ग्रामीण जनता को आर्थिक और सामाजिक रूप से सशक्त बनाने के लिए चलाया गया था। केंद्र में मोदी सरकार बनने के बाद से कांग्रेस की योजनाओं को बदनाम करने का नाकाम प्रयास किया गया। कुछ योजनाओं को सरकार ने बंद कर दिया तो कुछ का सरकार ने अपनी सुविधा के मुताबिक नाम बदल दिया।
आपको याद होगा कि प्रधानमंत्री बनने के बाद देश की संसद में प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने कहा था कि मनरेगा कांग्रेस की विफलता का जीता-जागता स्मारक है। मैं इसकी विफलता का गाजे-बाजे के साथ जोर-शोर से ढोल पीटता रहूंगा।
लेकिन मोदी जी का झूठ उस समय पकड़ा गया... जब देश में कोरोना लॉकडॉउन लगने के बाद गांवों में यही मनरेगा गरीबों और मजदूरों के लिए पेट भरने का एकमात्र जरिया बनी।
इस समय जब अर्थव्यवस्था में मंदी की वजह से शहर की फैक्ट्रियों में काम नहीं है, गांव में मनरेगा मजदूरी करने के बाद समय से पारिश्रमिक नहीं मिल पाता।
देश की गरीब जनता आखिर कहां जाए... किसके भरोसे जिए..?
