A 26-year-old Tennessee mother was convicted guilty of murder in the 2011 deaths of her newborn twin babies, it was reported Tuesday.

Lindsey Lowe, who lives in Nashville, was convicted of felony murder for smothering her two children to death, reported The Associated Press.

Lowe, who was also convicted of premeditated murder and aggravated child abuse, was sentenced to life in prison by the judge immediately after the jury handed down its verdict. Her bond was revoked and she was taken into custody, reported News Channel 5.

Prosecutors alleged that she killed the two children because she wanted to go on with her life and not allow the two babies to interfere. The prosecution used Google searches, an interview with police, and other testimony to convince the jury she knew she killed her own babies.

Hendersonville Police Detective Steve Malach said that Lowe told him that she kept her pregnancy secret to not disappoint her fiancee or add more stress to him during a family member's illness. News Channel 5 reported that her friends and family said she did not act like a pregnant woman.

In a video of the interrogation with Malach, Lowe said she 'maybe' smothered the two babies, AP reported. She also reportedly said on video that she 'was just trying to keep them quiet.'
