The state's first breastfeeding management unit is going to be established in Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Medical College, Ner Chowk. Machinery worth Rs 30 lakh has been purchased for this unit while tenders have been issued to purchase machinery worth Rs 45 lakh. Principal of Medical College Ner Chowk, Dr. DK Verma said that State Nodal Officer Dr. Anupam Badan and two staff nurses have returned from Rajasthan after taking their training. It has been decided to start this unit completely by the month of November and work has started in that direction. With the construction of this unit, no newborn will be deprived of mother's milk and this will also reduce the infant mortality rate because mother's milk is considered the best food.
