Solan (Himachal) : Zilla Parishad cadre employees have been on strike for the last 19 days demanding the merger of Rural Development Department and Panchayati Raj Department. The employees are demanding that they should be merged into the department so that the employees can also get benefits like other employees. The striking workers are saying that Congress had said that as soon as it comes to power, action will be taken to merge them in the department, but now it has been 10 months since the government came to power, till now no step has been taken regarding their demand.
