World tourism Day celebrates at Famous tourist destination Gulmarg.

Director tourism Kashmir kick start multiple event's on the occasion.

This year theme of World tourism Day is Tourism and Green Investment.World Tourism Day (WTD) is celebrated each year on 27 September. Its purpose is to foster awareness among the international community of the importance of tourism and its social, cultural, political and economic value.

According to the United Nations, tourism is one of the world’s most important economic sectors. It employs one in every ten people on Earth and provides livelihoods to hundreds of millions more. For some countries, it can represent over 20% of their GDP.

On the occasion A huge gathering of local stakeholders, including officials of various department participated the programme,in which a mega sanitation rally, atv rally and other environment related activities were organized by department of tourism J&K.

Later a awareness programme was also held on the occasion Director tourism Kashmir highlights the importance of tourism day in world. The Director tourism Kashmir also said that till date 1.38 crore tourists has been visited here, the target is 2.25 till this year ending flow of tourism in J&K.
