Taking the preparations of Lok Sabha 2024 Elections to greater heights, 188 security personnel, comprising Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) officers were airlifted by three Indian Air Force helicopters for Marwah & Warwan areas in Kishtwar District of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

Kishtwar district falls under 4-Udhampur Parliamentary constituency and elections are scheduled on 19th April (first phase) in the district. Challenges, at first sight insurmountable, were overcome as Polling Officials traversed snow clad mountains and remote terrains of Marwah and Warwan. 16 sorties transported the security personnel to these areas.The road leading up to the Marwan and Warwan areas via Sinthan and Margamtop is located at an altitude of 12,500 feet and poses significant logistical challenges.

The efforts are geared towards ensuring ECI’s motto that no voter is left behind and is testament to the fact that the General Elections 2024 is one of the largest election time movement of man and material on the planet!
