നാല് മണിക്കൂര്‍ ചാര്‍ജ് ചെയ്താല്‍ 300 കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ ഓടാന്‍ സാധിക്കുന്ന വൈദ്യുത ബസുകള്‍ നിരത്തിലിറക്കി ഗോവ.
ഒരുവര്‍ഷത്തിനുള്ളില്‍ 100 വൈദ്യുത ബസ്സുകള്‍ നിരത്തിലിറക്കാനാണ് സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ ഉദ്ദേശിക്കുന്നത്.പൂര്‍ണമായും സ്വകാര്യ കമ്പനിയാണ് ബസ്സുകളുടെ മേല്‍നോട്ടം വഹിക്കുന്നത്. ഒരു ബസ്സിന് ഏകദേശം രണ്ടുകോടി രൂപ വിലവരുമെന്ന് കമ്പനി അധികൃതര്‍ പറഞ്ഞു. കിലോമീറ്ററിന് 60 രൂപ നിരക്കില്‍ സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ ഈ കമ്പനിക്ക് വാടക നല്‍കണം. ബസ്സിന്റെ അറ്റകുറ്റപ്പണികളും ഡ്രൈവര്‍മാരുടെ വേതനവും കമ്പനി നല്‍കും. 12 മീറ്റര്‍ നീളമുള്ള ബസ്സില്‍ 324 കെ.വി.യുടെ ബാറ്ററിയാണുള്ളത്. വൈദ്യുത ബസ്സുകള്‍ മാത്രമല്ല ഗോവയില്‍ ബയോഗ്യാസ് ബസ്സുകളും നിരത്തിലിറക്കുമെന്ന് ഗതാഗതമന്ത്രി സുധിന്‍ ധവലീക്കാര്‍ അറിയിച്ചു.
സ്ഥാനത്തെ ആദ്യ വൈദ്യുത ബസ്സിന്റെ പരീക്ഷണ ഓട്ടം പനജി ബസ് സ്റ്റാന്‍ഡ് പരിസരത്ത് മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി മനോഹര്‍ പരീക്കര്‍ ഫ്‌ളാഗ് ഓഫ് ചെയ്തു. ഗോവയില്‍ പരിസരമലിനീകരണം കുറയ്ക്കുന്നതിന്റെയും ഹരിതവത്കരണം നടപ്പാക്കുന്നതിന്റെയും ഭാഗമായിട്ടാണ് ഈ പുതുസംരംഭത്തിന് ഗതാഗത വകുപ്പ് മുന്നോട്ട് വന്നത്.
