Shimla Municipal Corporation has intensified the campaign to crack down on the encroaching shopkeepers and hawkers in Shimla's markets. Municipal officials today issued challans to shopkeepers encroaching in front of shops on Mall Road and Lower Bazaar.
As per the instructions of the High Court, the corporation administration is taking strict action to remove the encroachment and stop the tehbazaari. Challans are also being cut continuously for a long time. So far, challans worth Rs 69,000 have been collected, while 32 challans have been done within a week.
