Himachal Pradesh government has withdrawn the notification issued to the employees regarding arrears of sixth pay scale. According to the formula decided in this notification regarding the arrears of the employees, the employees were not to get their arrears in full even in the next 30 years. In such a situation, Himachal Pradesh Pensioner Welfare Association has demanded from the government to take the matter of arrears in the cabinet to be held tomorrow and give it in lump sum.

One of the prominent hotel in Panaji had Rs 45 crores water bill arrears of 5 years! Interestingly this hotel was never served any notice of disconnection by the PWD. Taking advantage of the state government's one-time settlement scheme, the hotel paid only Rs 34 lakh out of Rs 45 crore to free itself.
