One of the prominent hotel in Panaji had Rs 45 crores water bill arrears of 5 years! Interestingly this hotel was never served any notice of disconnection by the PWD. Taking advantage of the state government's one-time settlement scheme, the hotel paid only Rs 34 lakh out of Rs 45 crore to free itself. In fact, PWD disconnects water supply even if a comman man fails to pay an amount of Rs.10,000. But why has the department not sent any notice to this hotel in last five years? Why was the hotel given so much time to avail the benefits of the government's one time settlement scheme? Will there be any action on PWD officer? Goans are eagerly waiting for all these answers!
