Patekar listened to the views of those present at the meeting and later directed officials to collect water samples from the river on Tuesday to ascertain the quality of water. Till then, water supply will be provided to the villagers through tankers.

Terming the contamination of the River Ragada as an emergency situation, the Sacorda villagers, on Sunday, demanded an urgent alternative to supply them with potable water. During the gram sabha, the panchayat resolved to take action against illegal fish pits belonging to the fish factory that have allegedly contaminated the river, while assuring the villagers to put in all efforts to provide them with clean and safe water. The gram sabha began with the villagers protesting against the sarpanch for not attending the meeting.

മാന്ദാമംഗലം സെന്റ് മേരീസ് പള്ളിയില്‍ ഓര്‍ത്തഡോക്‌സ്-യാക്കോബായ വിഭാഗങ്ങള്‍ തമ്മില്‍ ഏറ്റുമുട്ടിയ സംഭവത്തില്‍ 30 ലേറെ പേരെ അറസ്റ്റു ചെയ്തു.
ഓര്‍ത്തഡോക്‌സ് സഭ തൃശൂര്‍ ഭദ്രാസനാധിപന്‍ യൂഹാനോന്‍ മാര്‍ മിലിത്തിയോസാണ് ഒന്നാം പ്രതി.
കേസില്‍ ആകെ 120 പേര്‍ക്കെതിരെ പോലീസ് കേസ് രജിസ്റ്റര്‍ ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്. വ്യാഴാഴ്ച രാത്രി 11 മണിക്കാണ് പള്ളിയുടെ ഗെയിറ്റ് തകര്‍ത്ത് ഓര്‍ത്തഡോക്‌സ് വിഭാഗം അകത്ത് കയറിയതോടെ ഏറ്റുമുട്ടലുണ്ടായത്. സംഭവത്തില്‍ 17 പേര്‍ക്ക് പരിക്കുണ്ട്. കഴിഞ്ഞ രണ്ടു ദിവസമായി ഓര്‍ത്തഡോക്‌സ് വിഭാഗം പള്ളിക്കു പുറത്തും പ്രാര്‍ഥനകളും ചടങ്ങുകളുമായി യാക്കോബായ വിഭാഗം അകത്തും തമ്പടിച്ചിരിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. അതിനിടെയാണ് യൂഹാനോന്‍ മാര്‍ മിലിത്തിയോസിന്റെ നേതൃത്വത്തില്‍ രാത്രിയോടെ ഓര്‍ത്തഡോക്‌സ് വിശ്വാസികള്‍ അകത്തു കയറിയത്. ഇതോടെയുണ്ടായ സംഘര്‍ഷത്തില്‍ യുഹനാന്‍ മാര്‍ മിലിത്തിയോസ് ഉള്‍പ്പെടെ 17 പേര്‍ക്ക് പരിക്കേറ്റിരുന്നു.
ഉച്ചക്ക് 12 മണിക്ക് കളക്ടറുടെ നേതൃത്വത്തില്‍ ഇരുവിഭാഗത്തേയും ചര്‍ച്ചക്ക് വിളിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.
ഓർത്തഡോക്സ്, യാക്കോബായ സഭാ പ്രതിനിധികൾ ചർച്ചയ്ക്ക് വരണമെന്ന് ജില്ലാ കലക്ടർ ടി.വി.അനുപമ ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടു. അക്രമം ഉണ്ടായ സാഹചര്യത്തിലാണ് ജില്ലാ ഭരണകൂടം പള്ളിത്തര്‍ക്കത്തിലിടപ്പെട്ടത്.വധശ്രമം, കലാപശ്രമം എന്നീ വകുപ്പുകള്‍ ചുമത്തിയാണ് കേസ് രജിസ്റ്റര്‍ ചെയ്തത്. അക്രമസംഭവവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് ജാമ്യമില്ലാ വകുപ്പ് പ്രകാരമാണ് കേസ് എടുത്തത്.
കൂടാതെ നിരവധി വൈദികരേയും കേസില്‍ പ്രതികളാക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.
