Mississippi man arrested in ricin letters case The FBI said Wednesday it has arrested a Mississippi man 'believed to be responsible'' for mailing letters that tested positive for poisonous ricin to President Obama, a senator and another official.
Paul Kevin Curtis was arrested at his home in Corinth, Miss., the FBI said.
Curtis is 'the individual believed to be responsible for the mailings of the three letters sent through the U.S. Postal Service which contained a granular substance that preliminarily tested positive for ricin,'' the FBI said in a statement.
The White House and Capitol Hill were on alert after initial tests Wednesday showed that suspicious letters contained ricin, a deadly toxin.

A suspect was arrested Wednesday in connection with the mailing of two letters containing poison to President Barack Obama and Mississippi Sen. Roger Wicker, a law enforcement source said.
Both letters were intercepted, the contents were tested, and were found to contain the substance ricin.
Both letters were postmarked April 8 from Memphis and appear to be from the same individual, according to the FBI.
Each letter said 'to see a wrong and not expose it is to become a silent partner to its continuance.'
Each was signed 'I am KC and I approve this message.'
The arrest was made by a joint by a joint FBI and Capitol Police Task Force.

Earlier, a third suspicious letter discovered this week -- this one addressed to Obama -- has been intercepted and is being tested for the poisonous substance ricin.
