जिला कांगड़ा में इसी साल मंड-रियाली-फतेहपुर-इन्दौरा क्षेत्र में खरीद केंद्र खोला जाएगा। इसके बाद किसानों को अपनी धान की फसल बेचने के लिए पंजाब का रुख नहीं करना पड़ेगा। इसके लिए फूड कारपोरेशन आफ इंडिया (एफसीआई) ने इन प्रिंसिपल एपू्रवल दे दी है। जिला कांगड़ा में राइस मिल न होने के चलते किसानों को अपनी धान की फसल बेचने में काफी दिक्कतें पेश आ रही थी। ऐसे में जिला भर से यह मांग उठ रही थी कि किसानों को उनकी फसल बेचने के लिए जिला में ही व्यवस्था की जाए। जिला प्रशासन के पास पहुंचे मामले पर इस संबंध में प्रदेश सरकार और फूड कारपोरेशन आफ इंडिया से बात की थी, जिस पर फूड कारपोरेशन आफ इंडिया ने जिला में खरीद केंद्र खोलने हेतू इन प्रिंसिपल अप्रूवल दे दी है।
