ലോക്ടക്ക് തടാകത്തിൽ ഒഴുകി നടക്കുന്ന ദ്വീപുകളുണ്ട് . ഈ തടാകത്തില്‍ കുടിൽകെട്ടി താമസിക്കുന്ന ഒരു ജന വിഭാഗമുണ്ട് . ഒഴുകി നടക്കുന്ന ദ്വീപുകള്‍ ആയതിനാല്‍ ഇന്ന് കുടിൽ കിഴക്കോട്ടെങ്കിൽ നാളെ അത്‌ പടിഞ്ഞാറോട്ടോ വടക്കോട്ടോ തെക്കോട്ടോ ആവാം. അകലെ നിന്ന് നോക്കിയാൽ പുൽക്കൂട്ടങ്ങൾ നിറഞ്ഞ ചതുപ്പ്‌ പോലെ തോന്നും. അടുത്തെത്തുമ്പോൾ അവ പുൽക്കൂട്ടങ്ങൾ അല്ല ദ്വീപുകളാണെന്ന് മനസിലാകും.പല ദ്വീപുകളിലും ആൾപ്പാർപ്പുണ്ട്‌. വാഴയും കിഴങ്ങുകളും പച്ചക്കറികളും കൃഷി ചെയ്യുന്നുണ്ട്‌. പശുവും ആടും കോഴിയും വളർത്തുന്നുമുണ്ട്‌.ലോക്ടക്ക് പോലെ ഇംഫാല്‍ താഴ്വരെയേ കൂടുതല്‍ ആകര്‍ഷണീയ മാക്കുന്ന മറ്റ് നദികളാണ് ഇംഫാല്‍, ഖുഗ, ഐറില്‍, തൗബാല്‍, സെക്മായ് എന്നിവ.843 സ്ക്വയര്‍ കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ വ്യാപ്തിയുള്ള ഇംഫാല്‍ താഴ്വര മണിപ്പൂരിന്‍റെ പത്തിലൊന്ന് വിസ്തൃതി വരുന്നതാണ്. സംസ്ഥാനത്തെ 70 ശതമാനം ജനസംഖ്യയും ഇവിടെയാണ്.
