इन दिनों चर्चा में आई इस्लामिक स्विम सूट यानी बुर्कीनी पर रोक को फ्रांस की उच्चतम अदालत ने खारिज कर दिया है। अदालत ने वीलनव लूबे शहर में बुर्कीनी पर लगी रोक को हटाने का आदेश दिया है। इससे बाकी शहरों से भी इस पर प्रतिबंध हट सकता है। बता दें कि नीस में बीच पर एक मुस्लिम महिला की बुर्कीनी उतारे जाने के बाद जबरदस्त बहस छिड़ी हुई है। अदालत ने कहा, ''विलनव लूबे में बुर्कीनी पर लगी रोक व्यक्तिगत आज़ादी, विचारों की स्वतंत्रता और बेरोक-टोक आने और जाने के अधिकार का गंभीर और साफ़ तौर पर ग़ैरकानूनी उल्लंघन है।' माना जा रहा है कि इसके बाद फ्रांस के क़रीब तीस शहरों में रोक हटाई जाएगी। लेकिन कॉर्सिका शहर के मेयर ने रोक को जारी रखने की घोषणा की है। हालांकि बुर्कीनी पर रोक को लेकर बाकी कानूनी पहलुओं पर अदालत अंतिम फ़ैसला बाद में सुनाएगी। अदालत के बाहर अपील करने वाले संगठनों के एक वकील ने कहा कि जिन मुस्लिम महिलाओं पर बुर्कीनी पहनने के लिए जुर्माना लगाया गया था वो जुर्माने की राशि वापस पाने के लिए दावा कर सकती हैं। जर्मनी के ल्यूकेनवाल्दे शहर के मेयर ने हिजाब पहनने के कारण एक इंटर्न की नौकरी के पहले ही दिन छुट्टी कर दी। 48 साल की इंटर्न फलस्तीनी शरणार्थी हैं। शरणार्थियों से जुड़े एक प्रोजेक्ट पर काम करने के लिए उसकी छह सप्ताह के लिए नियुक्ति की गई थी। मीडिया रिपोर्टों के अनुसार महिला के हिजाब उतारने से इन्कार करने पर मेयर ने उसे हटाने का आदेश दिया था। जर्मनी में बुर्का पर प्रतिबंध को लेकर जारी बहस के बीच यह खबर आई है।
