लद्दाख के लिए सभी मौसम में संपर्क (All weather connectivity) प्रस्थापित करने के लिए जम्मू और कश्मीर में कार्यान्वित महत्वपूर्ण परियोजना और एशिया की सबसे लंबी टनल जोजिला टनल का आज जम्मू और कश्मीर के उपराज्यपाल श्री मनोज सिन्हा जी तथा सड़क परिवहन और राजमार्ग की संसदीय सलाहकार समिति के सदस्य सांसदों की उपस्थिति में मुआयना किया।
जम्मू-कश्मीर में 25 हजार करोड़ रुपए की लागत से 19 टनल का निर्माण हो रहा है। इसके अंतर्गत जोजिला में 6800 करोड़ रुपए की लागत से 13.14 किमी लंबाई के टनल एवं एप्रोच रोड़ का निर्माण कार्य प्रगति पर है। यह 7.57 मीटर उँची घोड़े की नाल के आकार की सिंगल ट्युब, 2-लेन टनल है, जो कश्मीर के गांदरबल और लद्दाख के कारगिल जिले के द्रास शहर के बीच हिमालय में जोजिला दर्रे के नीचे से गुजरेगी। इस परियोजना में स्मार्ट टनल (SCADA) सिस्टम शामिल है, जिसका निर्माण न्यू ऑस्ट्रियन टनलिंग पद्धति का उपयोग करके किया गया है। सीसीटीवी, रेडियो नियंत्रण, निर्बाध बिजली आपूर्ति, वेंटिलेशन जैसी सुविधाओं से यह सुसज्जित है। इस परियोजना में आधुनिक टेक्नोलॉजी के उपयोग से भारत सरकार के 5000 करोड़ रुपए की भी बचत हुई है।
जोजिला टनल परियोजना के अंतर्गत 13,153 मीटर की एक मुख्य जोजिला टनल के साथ 810 मीटर कुल लंबाई की 4 पुलियाँ, 4,821 मीटर कुल लंबाई की 4 नीलग्रार टनल, 2,350 मीटर कुल लंबाई के 8 कट और कवर और 500 मीटर, 391 मीटर और 220 मीटर कुल लंबाई के 3 वर्टिकल वेंटिलेशन शाफ्ट प्रस्तावित है। अब तक ज़ोजिला टनल का 28% काम पूरा हुआ है।
इस टनल के बनने से लदाख के लिए ऑल वेदर कनेक्टिविटी होगी। अब ज़ोजिला दर्रे को पार करने के लिए औसत यात्रा समय कभी-कभी तीन घंटे लगता है, इस टनल के पूरा होने के बाद यात्रा का समय घटकर 20.0 मिनट हो जाएगा। यात्रा के समय में कमी से अंततः ईंधन की बचत होगी।
ज़ोजिला पास का इलाका बेहद दुर्गम है, यहा हर साल कई घातक दुर्घटनाएँ होती हैं। ज़ोजिला टनल के पूरा होने के बाद दुर्घटनाओं की संभावना शून्य हो जाएगी। यह टनल कश्मीर घाटी और लद्दाख के बीच साल भर संपर्क प्रदान करेगी जो लद्दाख के विकास, पर्यटन को बढ़ावा देने, स्थानीय सामानों

JAMMU LINKS NEWS | Prime Minister Narendra Modi today kickstarted work for Zojila tunnel, Asia's longest and strategic bi-directional tunnel, to provide all-weather connectivity between Srinagar, Kargil and Leh.
The Prime Minister who is on a day's visit to all the three regions -- Leh, Kashmir and Jammu-- of Jammu and Kashmir also attended the closing ceremony of the 100th birth anniversary celebrations of the 19th Kushok Bakula Rinpoche (Buddhist spiritual guru) here.
