കേണ്‍ഗ്രസ് പ്രവര്‍ത്തകര്‍ പ്രതിഷേധവുമായി എത്തിയതിനെ തുടര്‍ന്ന് ആക്‌സിഡന്റല്‍ പ്രൈം മിനിസ്റ്റര്‍ എന്ന ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ പ്രദര്‍ശനം തടസ്സപ്പെട്ടു. കൊല്‍ക്കത്ത നഗരത്തിലെ ക്വസ്റ്റ് മാളില്‍ മള്‍ട്ടിപ്ലക്‌സ് തിയേറ്ററിലാണ് സംഭവം. പ്രവര്‍ത്തകര്‍ തിയേറ്ററിന് നേരെ ആക്രമണം അഴിച്ചുവിടുകയും നാശനഷ്ടങ്ങള്‍ ഉണ്ടാക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. കോണ്‍ഗ്രസ് പതാകകളുമായി എത്തിയായിരുന്നു പ്രവര്‍ത്തകരുടെ പ്രതിഷേധം.കോണ്‍ഗ്രസിന്റെ ഉന്നത നേതാക്കളെ അപമാനിക്കുന്നതാണ് ഈ ചിത്രമെന്നും ചിത്രം എവിടെയും പ്രദര്‍ശിപ്പിക്കാന്‍ അനുവദിക്കില്ലെന്നും പ്രവര്‍ത്തകര്‍ അവകാശപ്പെട്ടു. ഇവര്‍ സിനിമ കാണാനെത്തിയവരെ ഭീഷണിപ്പെടുത്തുകയും ഉടന്‍ തിയേറ്റര്‍ വിട്ട് പോകാന്‍ ആവശ്യപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്തു.'മുതിര്‍ന്ന നേതാക്കന്മാരായ സോണിയ ഗാന്ധി, രാഹുല്‍ ഗാന്ധി, മന്‍മോഹന്‍ സിങ് എന്നിവരെ അപമാനിക്കുന്നതാണ് ചിത്രം. എവിടെയും ചിത്രം പ്രദര്‍ശിപ്പിക്കാന്‍ ഞങ്ങള്‍ അനുവദിക്കില്ല.' - കോണ്‍ഗ്രസ് നേതാവ് രാകേഷ് സിങ് പറഞ്ഞതായി ഐ.എ.എന്‍.എസ് റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട് ചെയ്തു.
എന്നാല്‍ സ്ഥലത്ത് പോലീസ് എത്തുകയും സ്ഥിഗതികള്‍ നിയന്ത്രണ വിധേയമാക്കിയ ശേഷം പ്രദര്‍ശനം തുടരുകയും ചെയ്തു.
എന്നല്‍ സംസ്ഥാന കോണ്‍ഗ്രസിന്റെ മുതിര്‍ന്ന നേതാക്കളാരും പ്രതിഷേധത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായില്ല. ചിത്രം ബി.ജെ.പിയുടെ രാഷ്ട്രീയ നീക്കമാണെന്നും എന്നാല്‍ ഇത്തരത്തിലുള്ള അക്രമ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങള്‍ നടക്കാന്‍ പാടില്ലായിരുന്നെന്നും മുതിര്‍ന്ന കോണ്‍ഗ്രസ് നേതാവ് ഓംപ്രകാശ് മിശ്ര പ്രതികരിച്ചു. സിനിമ തെറ്റിദ്ധാരണ പരത്തുന്നതും വസ്തുതകളെ വളച്ചൊടിക്കുന്നതുമാണെന്നായിരുന്നു ബംഗാള്‍ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി മമത ബാനര്‍ജിയുടെ പ്രതികരണം.ഡോ. മന്‍മോഹന്‍ സിങ് പ്രധാനമന്ത്രിയായിരുന്ന കാലത്തെ കഥ പറയുന്ന ബോളിവുഡ് ചിത്രം 'ദി ആക്‌സിഡന്റല്‍ പ്രൈം മിനിസ്റ്ററി'നെതിരേ നേരത്തെ കോണ്‍ഗ്രസ് രംഗത്തെത്തിയിരുന്നു. അനുപം ഖേര്‍ നായകനാകുന്ന ചിത്രം വസ്തുതകള്‍ക്ക് വിരുദ്ധമാണെന്നായിരുന്നു കോണ്‍ഗ്രസ് ആരോപണം.
