On Wednesday, MSNBC host Chris Matthews tackled a variety of, what he views as, persistently racial memes and insensitive attacks directed at President Barack Obama from the right. After detailing a series of attacks on the president from a number of prominent Republicans, Matthews chastised those who criticize him for seeing racism in questionable places. He said that those who disagree with him on that matter are 'dead wrong' and 'dangerous.'

Matthews began by noting to syndicated columnist Clarence Page that the 'blatantness' of the racial antipathy towards Obama on the right 'went through the roof' after former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin posted on her Facebook that 'Obama's shuck and jive ends with Benghazi lies.'
'A dog whistle is a dog whistle,' Matthews said to Page. 'A trumpet call is another.'
Page said that the derivation of that term is questionable and there are innocuous uses for that term, despite its origins in the antebellum South. He thought the bigger error on Palin's part was jumping to conclusions about the incident in Benghazi.

A photograph of a bumper sticker that features racist, anti-Obama language has gone viral on Facebook and other social networks.
The sticker reads 'Don't Re-Nig In 2012,' in large white type, above smaller text that reads: 'Stop repeat offenders. Don't re-elect Obama!'
The offensive design appears to have originated at a site called Stumpy's Stickers, where it can be purchased. The site sells variations on the same idea, including another 'Don't Re-Nig' design and a caricature of a black man's face with a missing tooth, a picture of a chimp that reads 'Obama 2012,' and another with a drawing of several Ku Klux Klan members that reads 'The Original Boys In The Hood.'

An image purporting to show a racist, anti-Obama bumper sticker on the back of a vehicle has been garnering lots of attention on Facebook in the past 24 hours.
The bumper sticker reads, 'Don't Re-Nig in 2012.' And in smaller print below, 'Stop repeat offenders. Don't' reelect Obama!' The sticker also features an image of the Obama campaign logo crossed out.
Several viewers have claimed the image has been digitally altered. After all, it seems shocking that someone would proudly display an openly racist image on their vehicle in 2012. So, is the image authentic?
In short, yes.
It's still unclear is the image of the vehicle has been altered in any way, but a website called 'Stumpy's Stickers' offers the bumper sticker for sale for $3. And as The Root points out, the site also several other racially insensitive items for sale as well. The urban myth debunking site Snopes says it cannot yet determine the origins of the photo, but also points out the availability of other similar t-shirts and bumper stickers.
There is even an eponymous 'Dontre-nig.com' website that appears to have crashed. Going to the page brings up a 'Bandwith Limit Exceeded' warning message. I checked the domain registration service site WHOIS, which listed the site as belonging to an anonymous owner who purchased the URL through the compan
