Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi visited the United States in September 2019. During the his visit, PM Modi held bilateral discussions with US President Donald Trump and met US business and industry leaders in Houston and New York. In Houston, he addressed the historic 'Howdy Modi' Diaspora event, where President Trump along with many US Senators and Congressmen was in attendance. In New York, PM Modi addressed the United Nations General Assembly and highlighted India's contribution in fighting the climate change and maintaining international peace and security. At the margins of UNGA, PM Modi met several world leaders, besides meeting leaders of CARRICOM and PSIDS countries.
