വിമാനങ്ങളിലിരുന്ന് ഇനി ഫോണ്‍ ഉപയോഗിക്കാം.വിമാനയാത്രക്കിടെ വൈഫൈ സംവിധാനം ഉപയോഗിക്കാന്‍ ടെലിക്കോം കമ്മീഷനാണ് അനുമതി നല്‍കിയത്. ട്രായിയുടെ നിര്‍ദേശം അംഗീകരിച്ചതായി ടെലികോം ഡയറക്ടറേറ്റ് വ്യക്തമാക്കി. മൂന്ന് മാസത്തിനകം പദ്ധതി നടപ്പിലാക്കുമെന്ന് വ്യോമയാനമന്ത്രി സുരേഷ് പ്രഭു അറിയിച്ചു. വിമാനങ്ങളില്‍ വൈഫൈ സംവിധാനം നടപ്പാക്കുന്നത് പരിഗണിക്കാന്‍ ട്രായ് ആണ് ടെലികോം ഡയറക്ടറേറ്റിന് ശുപാര്‍ശ ചെയ്തത്. നിലവില്‍ വിദേശ കമ്പനികളുടെ വിമാനങ്ങളില്‍ മാത്രമാണ് വൈഫൈ സംവിധാനമുള്ളത്. രാജ്യത്തെ വിമാനങ്ങളിലും ഈ സംവിധാനം നടപ്പാക്കുന്നത് മത്സരരംഗത്ത് ഗുണംചെയ്യുമെന്നാണ് ടെലികോം ഡയറക്ടറേറ്റിന്റെ വിലയിരുത്തല്‍. വൈഫൈ സംവിധാനം നടപ്പാക്കുന്നതോടെ ഫോണ്‍വിളിക്കാനും ഇന്റര്‍നെറ്റ് ഉപയോഗിക്കാനും യാത്രക്കാര്‍ക്ക് സാധിക്കും.
