ഇന്ത്യയില്‍ പിറന്ന ഏറ്റവും തൂക്കം കുറഞ്ഞ കുട്ടിയാണ് ചെറി. ഭാരം 375 ഗ്രാം.ആശുപത്രിയില്‍ നിന്നും വീട്ടിലേയ്ക്ക് പോകുമ്പോള്‍ അവളുടെ ഭാരം 1.98 കിലോഗ്രാം. ആരോഗ്യ പ്രശ്നങ്ങളെ അതിജീവിക്കാന്‍ ചെറിയ്ക്ക് സാധിക്കും എന്നാണ്‌ ഡോക്ടര്‍മാര്‍ പറയുന്നത്. പ്രസവത്തിനായി പറഞ്ഞിരുന്ന തിയതിയ്ക്കും നാല് മാസം മുന്‍പാണ് ചെറിയുടെ ജനനം. ജനിച്ച സമയം ഒരു സാധാരണ മനുഷ്യന്‍റെ കൈപ്പത്തിയുടെ വലിപ്പം മാത്രമേ ചെറിയ്ക്ക് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നുള്ളൂ. 128 ദിവസത്തെ ആശുപത്രി വാസത്തിന് ശേഷമാണ് ചെറി വീട്ടിലേയ്ക്ക് മടങ്ങിയത്.

ലോകത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും ചെറിയ നവജാതശിശുക്കളിലൊരാള്‍
ജനിച്ചപ്പോള്‍ തൂക്കം 400 ഗ്രാം മാത്രം. അച്ഛന്റെ തള്ളവിരലിന്റെ വലുപ്പം മാത്രമായിരുന്നു അവളുടെ കാലുകള്‍ക്ക്. തൊലിക്ക് പേപ്പറിന്റെ കനം. പ്രസവിക്കുവാന്‍ 12 ആഴ്ച്ച ബാക്കി നില്‍ക്കെ പ്രസവിച്ച ഈ കുഞ്ഞു ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കില്ല എന്നു കരുതിയ എല്ലാവരെയും അതിശയിപ്പിച്ചു. ഇപ്പോള്‍ അവള്‍ക്ക് 6 മാസം പ്രായമായിരിക്കുന്നു,
ഏഷ്യയില്‍ മാസമെത്തും മുമ്പേ പ്രസവിച്ച കുട്ടികളില്‍ ഏറ്റവും തൂക്കം കുറഞ്ഞ കുട്ടിയാണിത്.
രാജസ്ഥാനില്‍ ജൂണ്‍ 15നായിരുന്നു 48 കാരി സീതയ്ക്ക് ഇവള്‍ പിറന്നത്. സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ ആശുപത്രിയിലെ ഡോ.ജംഗേദാണ് സിസേറിയനിലൂടെ ഇവളെ പുറത്തെടുത്തത്. ഇത്രയും നാളുകൊണ്ടു ഒരു ലക്ഷം രൂപ ആശുപത്രി തുക ആയെങ്കിലും അടയ്ക്കുവാന്‍ ആ നിര്‍ധന കുടുംബത്തിന് സാധിച്ചില്ല. രാജസ്ഥാനിലെ ആ ആശുപത്രി അധികൃതര്‍ ആ പണം എഴുതിതള്ളി സഹായിച്ചു. 2017 ലോകസുന്ദരി മാനുഷി ചില്ലറിന്റെ പേരില്‍ നിന്നാണ് ആശുപത്രിയധികൃതര്‍ ഇവള്‍ക്ക് മനുഷിയെന്ന പേരിട്ടിരിക്കുന്നത്.
