രാജ്യത്തെ ഓട്ടോമോട്ടിവ് രംഗത്ത് 2020 മുതൽ BS-VI (BS6) വാഹനങ്ങൾക്ക് മാത്രമേ സ്ഥാനമുണ്ടാവൂ.
ഡീസലിന് പെട്രോളിനെക്കാള്‍ 10 രൂപയിലധികം വില കുറവുണ്ടാകുകയും ഡീസല്‍ വാഹനങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് മികച്ച ഇന്ധനക്ഷമതയും ലഭിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തതിനെ തുടര്‍ന്നാണ് ഡീസല്‍ കാറുകള്‍ കൂടുതല്‍ ജനപ്രിയമായത്. പെട്രോള്‍ വാഹനങ്ങളും ഡീസല്‍ വാഹനങ്ങളും തമ്മില്‍ പരമാവധി 1.5 ലക്ഷം രൂപ വരെയാണ് വില വ്യത്യാസമുണ്ടായിരുന്നത്. എന്നാല്‍, വൈകാതെ ഇത് 2.5 ലക്ഷത്തോളമാകുമെന്നാണ് റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട്.

നിരവധി വാഹന നിർമ്മാതാക്കൾ ഇതിനകം തന്നെ BS-VI ശ്രേണിയിലേയ്ക്ക് മാറിക്കഴിഞ്ഞു. ശേഷിക്കുന്നവർ മാറിക്കെണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു. ഓട്ടോകാർ നൽകുന്ന വിവരങ്ങളനുസരിച്ച് വാഹനവിപണിയിലെ BS-VI നടപ്പാക്കുന്നത് രാജ്യത്തെ പെട്രോൾ - ഡീസൽ കാറുകളുടെ വിലയിലെ അന്തരത്തെ നല്ല രീതിയിൽ ബാധിക്കുമെന്നാണ്.
പക്ഷെ, ബിഎസ്-6 നിലവാരത്തിലുള്ള ഡീസല്‍ എന്‍ജിന്‍ വികസിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ഏറെ ചിലവേറിയതാണെന്നാണ് റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട്.
