സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ എയ്ഡഡ് സ്‌കൂളുകളില്‍ ഒന്നുമുതല്‍ 10 വരെ ക്ലാസുകളില്‍ പഠിക്കുന്ന ഒ.ബി.സി. വിദ്യാര്‍ഥികളുടെ പ്രീ മെട്രിക് സ്‌കോളര്‍ഷിപ്പിനുള്ള യോഗ്യതാമാര്‍ക്ക് പരിധി ഉയര്‍ത്തി .
പ്രീ മെട്രിക് സ്‌കോളര്‍ഷിപ്പിനുള്ള യോഗ്യതാമാര്‍ക്ക് പരിധി 50-ല്‍ നിന്ന് 80 ശതമാനമാക്കി. മുന്‍വര്‍ഷങ്ങളില്‍ അര്‍ഹത നേടിയ 60 ശതമാനത്തിലേറെ വിദ്യാര്‍ഥികള്‍ 2018 -'19 അധ്യയനവര്‍ഷം ആനുകൂല്യത്തില്‍നിന്ന് പുറത്താവും. മുന്‍വര്‍ഷത്തെ വാര്‍ഷിക പരീക്ഷയുടെ മാര്‍ക്കാണ് അപേക്ഷിക്കാനുള്ള മാനദണ്ഡം.പുതിയ ഉത്തരവ് പ്രകാരം രക്ഷിതാവിന്റെ വാര്‍ഷിക വരുമാനപരിധി 44,500 രൂപയില്‍നിന്ന് രണ്ടരലക്ഷമാക്കിയിട്ടുമുണ്ട്. വിദ്യാര്‍ഥികള്‍ക്ക് വര്‍ഷം നല്‍കിയിരുന്ന ഗ്രാന്റ് 900 രൂപയില്‍ നിന്ന് 1,500 രൂപയാക്കി ഉയര്‍ത്തി.
