Amid the border tensions between Assam and Mizoram, the Political Secretary to Assam Chief Minister Jayanta Baruah on July 30 said that for the first time since 2000 Assam government has taken a strong step against encroachment at the border. 'Encroachment has been happening since 2000 but nobody retaliated.
