Halloween Witch - Happy Halloween Google Doodle 2013 Video.

In celebration of this year’s Halloween, the Google Doodle team created a homepage image of a spooky street lined with jack-o-lanterns, autumn leaves, a crow and a tiny black cat. The image has eerie wind and screeching cat sound effects to match.

The street features five doors that you can click on to reveal the monster inside: An octopus slithers to the front door, a ghost pops up from the ground and a pair of creepy eyes follow your cursor around as you move it across the screen, to name a few.
But it gets better. If you type classic horror movies into the Google search bar — The Shining, Psycho, The Exorcist, Nightmare on Elm Street — and even a few more contemporary horror films — The Blair Witch Project, Paranormal Activity — three bats appear hanging from the upper right hand corner. Move your cursor over them, and they fly across your screen.halloween witch makeup kids

But this only works for a select number of horror films. Certain movies that seem like shoe-ins — Night of the Living Dead, The Haunting and Bride of Frankenstein — are surprisingly bat-less.make halloween witch costumes.halloween witch costumes uk

So here comes the challenge: Type horror movies that come to mind into the Google search bar and see if you can find the hidden bats. Remember, it’s a lot trickier than it sounds.
Oh, and one more thing, happy Halloween!

Google wishes Happy Halloween! with an interactive haunted house doodle

October 31 is celebrated as Halloween in a number of countries around the world and Google is celebrating the event taking users on a visit to a haunted house on many of its home pages.
The Google Happy Halloween doodle features a haunted mansion (numbered 13) with many spooky inhabitants, who double up as letters of the Google logo. The characters reveal themselves when you click on the doors of the haunted house. To add to the atmosphere there is also an eerie sound playing in the background. The faint hearted though can turn it off with a click of a mouse.
A blue one-eyed octopus stands for 'G' in the Google logo, a pair of red and yellow eyes behind the second door from the left are the two 'Os', the second 'G' is a veiled ghost. A clattering skeleton is the 'L' and a smiley face that turns into a monster represents the 'E'. An apparition also appears between the skeleton and the smiley monster.
There is also a black alley cat, a crowing crow and a spider for extra effect. A number of jack-o'-lanterns rest on the steps of the mansion. It is only when you click on all the interactive elements on the Happy Halloween! Google doodle and the alley cat jumps out of the frame that the page redirects to the search results page for the keyword 'Happy Halloween!'.

Getting into the Halloween groove, search giant Google on Wednesday dished out a spooky surprise with a new interactive Halloween Doodle on its home page.

Modeled as haunted mansion (numbered 13) with a skeleton dangling by the door, the Doodle has the Google name turned into a house with several closed doors. On clicking on the doors, scary monsters appear. The doodle also has eerie audio which adds to the atmosphere.
To add to the fun, a black cat jumps out of the trash can outside the house. There are also a crowing crow and a spider to complete the scary picture.

While the first door has a blue one-eyed monstrous octopus that stands for 'G' in the Google logo, the next door reveals a pair of red and yellow eyes, behind the third door is the second 'G' as a veiled ghost. The clattering skeleton is the 'L' and a smiley face that roars into a monster represents the 'E'.

After all doors are opened, one can click on them again to interact. After the cat jumps out of the frame that the page redirects to the search results page for the keyword 'Happy Halloween!' Last year, Google celebrated Halloween with a special pumpkin carving doodle.

Halloween, also called All Hallows' Eve, falls on the eve of All Saints' Day. While it has religious significance for some Christians, nowadays, it is observed largely as a secular celebration.

Halloween or Hallowe'en (a contraction of 'All Hallows' Evening'), also known as All Hallows' Eve, is a yearly celebration observed in a number of countries on October 31, the eve of the Western Christian feast of All Hallows. According to many scholars, All Hallows' Eve was originally influenced by western European harvest festivals and festivals of the dead with possible pagan roots, particularly the Celtic Samhain. Others maintain that it originated independently of Samhain and has Christian roots.

Halloween is the short form of „All Hallows' Ev(ening)' - it's the night before „All Hallows'. Halloween is influenced by western European harvest festivals and festivals of the dead. In the early 19th century Irish and Scottish immigrates brought Halloween to US. Typical festive Halloween activities include trick-or-treating (also known as 'guising'), attending costume parties, carving pumpkins into jack-o'-lanterns, lighting bonfires, apple bobbing, visiting haunted attractions, playing pranks, telling scary stories, and watching horror films.
