Former Australian cricketer, Shane Warne, passed away on March 4th due to a suspected heart attack. While there was not much information on his passing initially, there have been further details revealed since the cricketer’s demise less than 24 hours ago. Reportedly, four of Warne’s friends tried their hardest to resuscitate him to no avail. The cricketer was at his villa in Koh Samui, Thailand for a planned three-month vacation at the time of his death.
According to the Thai police, Warne along with his three other friends was staying in a private villa. When the cricketer was late in his arrival for a planned outing, one of his friends went to inquire about him and discovered that the cricketer had suffered from a heart attack. He then proceeded to do CPR on him before the medical staff arrived.
“The friend did CPR on him and called an ambulance,” Chatchawin Nakmusik, an officer with the Bo Put police said according to India Today.
The 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will commence on 26th March 2022. And, ahead of the hugely awaited Indian T20 League, South African Test skipper Dean Elgar has asked his players not to take part in the IPL.
Elgar said that he received a call from the representative at Cricket South Africa (CSA) regarding the player’s availability for South Africa’s series against Bangladesh. The series between the two sides will conclude only on 12th April 2022. And, Elgar added that the players need to brief CSA whether they will offer their services for the South African Test side or play in the IPL.
India and Sri Lanka who are currently in the middle of playing the first Test match at Mohali, took the field on Day 2 wearing black armbands in remembrance of the late Australian cricketer, Shane Warne, who passed away on March 4th aged 52.
