As a sequel to his efforts of mitigating issues off employees, Minister for Health & Medical Education, Bali Bhagat today held second round of talks with the representatives of the NHM employees and discussed all their issues and demands.
Principal Secretary Health & Medical Education, Dr. Pawan Kotwal, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari, IG Jammu, SD Singh Jamwal, Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Kumar Rajeev Ranjan, Mission Director, NHM, Dr. Mohan Singh, Additional Secretary, K.S. Chib and representatives of NHM, RNTCP and NACO employees were present in the meeting.

At least five employees of National Health Mission on Wednesday got injured when the police resorted to mild lathi-charge to prevent their march to the Civil Secretariat where the district administration has already imposed Section 144 of CrPC as preventive measure.
Carrying placards and shouting slogans, thousands of NHM employees in the afternoon took out protest rally and marched towards the Civil Secretariat demanding 'regularisation' of their jobs.
On reaching near Shalimar Chowk, where Section 144 was already into force, contingent of police, restricted them from heading towards the Civil Secretariat.
The protestors and the police clashed during the protest.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police today baton charged and tear gassed hundreds of employees of the National Health Mission (NHM), including women, protesting here in support of their demands, including regularisation of their jobs.
More than 11,000 NHM employees have been on strike since December 20 in support of their various demands.
Today, nearly 300 of them took out a rally in the city, but they were stopped by the police when they tried to march towards the secretariat - the seat of the Jammu and Kashmir government.

A large number of National Health Mission (NHM) employees from all over the State under the banner of All J&K NHM Employees Association today held a peaceful protest here at Exhibition Ground demanding regularisation of their services.

Rohit Seth, provincial president of All JK NHM Employees Association and senior leader of State Government Employees' Joint Action Committee, Subash Verma, said that NHM staff is being ignored for many years by the Health Department and despite approaching to all the concerned higher officers time to time for the redressal of the genuine demands of the employees, the authority concerned has not responded. He said that their demands are that all the employees who have completed 5 years of service must be brought on permanent establishment and the rest of the staff be given equal salary at par with permanent employees in reference to the supreme court's verdict i.e. equal pay for equal work till their regularisation. He also said that the minimum 10% increment should be given to all the NHM staff yearly, transfer policy should be framed for them and the benefit of facilities like provident fund, maternity leave, baby care leave, medical leave, earned leave, medical Insurance, life insurance, etc. should also be given to them.

SRINAGAR: Contractual employees working under the National Health Mission (NHM) scheme in Jammu and Kashmir today staged a protest here demanding regularisation of their services.
Hundreds of employees, including doctors, paramedical staff and technicians of the health department, who are working on contractual basis under the NHM, from different districts of the Valley assembled at the Pratap Park in the commercial hub Lal Chowk here and started protesting, officials said.
They said the protesting employees shouted slogans against the state government and demanded their services be regularised.
The employees demanded they should also be included in the list of 60,000 employees who are to be regularised as recently announced by the government, the officials said.
