427 runs and 15 wickets in 39.4 overs and a winning margin of 7 runs. Yes, these were the stats of Match 30 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season on Monday (April 18). Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) played out a thriller at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. The Royals, in the end, prevailed or perhaps made a stunning comeback, courtesy of Yuzvendra Chahal’s sensational hat-trick in the 17th over, to win the game by seven runs.
Clearly, after batting so well in the steep chase of 218 runs, KKR had botched it up grandly, shooting themselves in the foot, especially in the 17th over of the innings. Skipper Shreyas Iyer’s valiant 85 off just 51 deliveries went in vain too and expectedly, he wasn’t happy after the loss.
He was seen complaining about something to the head coach Brendon McCullum who was sitting in the dugout. Shreyas Iyer had his bat and helmet in the hands and was talking to McCullum about some action on the field. Understandably, the KKR coach too didn’t have anything to say at that point given that emotions do take over after losing such a close game.
As far as the match is concerned, the Royals were propelled by a brilliant ton from Jos Buttler, his second of the season. He scored 103 runs off 61 deliveries with nine fours and five sixes to his name. Sanju Samson’s 38 off 19 and Shimron Hetmyer’s 26* off 13 also helped RR as they posted a huge total of 217 runs for the loss of five wickets in their 20 overs.
In response, Aaron Finch slammed a brilliant half-century while Shreyas Iyer also led the chase for his side. They were well in control of the chase needing 40 runs off last four overs with six wickets in hand. But Yuzvendra Chahal had other ideas who picked up a brilliant hat-trick to leave the opposition stunned, and despite Umesh Yadav smacking a few blows out of the ground, KKR fell short in the chase by seven runs.

Ollie Robinson’s suspension from international cricket has certainly taken the England cricketers by storm. The pacer was punished after some of his old ‘racist and sexist’ tweets resurfaced on social media when he made his Test debut against New Zealand at the Lord’s.
Following the infamous episode, England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has ordered an investigation to learn if any other England player had made any such derogatory remarks in the past. Alongside ECB, the guilty players can also face heat from their Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises.
It has been learned that Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) duo Eoin Morgan and Brendon McCullum had allegedly insulted the Indian accent during a social media exchange in 2018. The current captain and head coach of KKR, alongside Jos Buttler, used the word ‘Sir’ to reputedly mock the Indian fans.
Although some of those tweets have been deleted, the screenshots of the comments are doing rounds of social media. Speaking on the matter, KKR CEO Venky Mysore said that the franchise would wait to learn about the conclusion. However, he also made it crystal clear that the Shah Rukh Khan-owned side has zero-tolerance for any type of discrimination.

New Zealand captain Shreyas Iyer scored an unbeaten 93, and Prithvi Shaw's 62 runs, Delhi has scored 219/4 in 20 overs. KKR have to score 220 runs to win. IPL-11 is being played today between Delhi Daredevils and Kolkata Knight Riders. Kolkata won the toss and decided to bowl first.
Shreyas Iyer said that he is not nervous before the match but is feeling a bit of pressure. Gautam Gambhir and Cristian have been replaced by Colin Munro and Vijay Shankar. Kolkata has replaced Mitchell Johnson in place of Tom Coeur.
In the tournament so far, neither batsmen of Delhi have been able to walk nor there is a sharp edge in bowling. So far, he has got the sole win against Mumbai Indians and in the remaining five matches he has to face defeat.
Captain Gautam Gambhir not only left the captaincy due to repeated defeats but also took the responsibility of performing poorly and decided not to take salary. Now, in his place, Shreyas Iyer has been given command, so with the new captain today, the host will also have the hope of changing fate.

Kolkata Knight Riders recorded a much-important 52-run win over Mumbai Indians on Monday (May 9) to stay alive in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 playoff race. Although the two-time champions are highly unlikely to find a place in the top four, victories in their remaining fixtures will keep them mathematically in the hunt. Meanwhile, KKR’s dismal campaign this season has certainly been astonishing as they got off to a flying start.
Having won three of their first four games, the Knight Riders looked all set to go a long way. However, a five-match losing streak derailed their campaign and pushed them into the bottom half of the team standings. Not identifying an ideal playing XI has been KKR’s biggest concern this season. The two-time champions have also been highly criticized for the constant cutting and chopping of the players.
It is really difficult to tell players that they won’t play: Shreyas Iyer
They made as many as five changes for the MI clash and skipper Shreyas Iyer admitted it’s not easy to inform players that they are being dropped. He also revealed that, at times, the CEO of the franchise, Venky Mysore, is also involved in the team selection. “It is really difficult (to tell players they won’t play). Coach and at times, CEO is also obviously involved in team selections,” Shreyas Iyer told Star Sports.
“Each and every player takes it well, and they have put in their best efforts. The win was comprehensive, and when I spoke to the players, they were pumped up to win the game today,” he added. Meanwhile, Shreyas was pleased with the overall outcome of the game as his side crossed the line pretty comfortably at the end. He also lauded Venkatesh Iyer for his quickfire 43 inside the powerplay.
“I am very pleased because after losing the last game by a big margin, feels good to come back and win by a big margin is nice. We had a nice start in the powerplay and Venky targeted bowlers well. I personally felt that it wasn’

Former New Zealand cricket team captain Brendon McCullum in an exclusive interview with CricTracker talks about playing the VR Game - iB Cricket Super Over League. He really thinks this is the future of gaming and expects it to do wonders for the sport as well as the fans.
McCullum recently called it time on his BBL career and isn't a part of the Indian Premier League (IPL) either this season. He is hopeful that one of the franchises would want to sign him once the season gets underway. Baz also said that he would want to evolve as a coach or take up a commentary role once he retires from all forms of the game. #BrendonMcCullum #IPL #VirtualReality #iBCricket

Team India has been experiencing a sensational outing in the England tour of India thus far. They were at their fluent best in the four-match Test series as they emerged victorious by 3-1 and booked a berth for themselves in the final of the World Test Championship against New Zealand.
This was followed by the hosts proving their dominance in the shortest format of the game as they won the T20I series by 3-2 after an intense competition. Virat Kohli and his men had a scintillating start to the ongoing three-match ODI series too as they scripted a sweet victory against the England side in the first One Day International by 66 runs at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.
However, ahead of the second ODI, India has been dealt with a massive blow as their star batsman Shreyas Iyer has been ruled out of the remaining of the One Day series after dislocating his shoulder. Iyer had succumbed to injury while trying to save runs for his team by stopping a shot from England opener Jonny Bairstow.
