Over the weekend, speculation began over the title of the sequel to J.J. Abrams' Star Trek movie and it now looks like it's been confirmed. The new movie will be titled Star Trek Into Darkness. The news was broken by TrekMovie.com who give us the following information:
'TrekMovie has confirmed with multiple sources that Star Trek Into Darkness' has been selected as the title for the Star Trek movie. As noted in our earlier article, the title does not include a colon, like were used for the Next Generation films such as 'Star Trek: First Contact' or 'Star Trek: Nemesis.'

Captain Kirk, Spock and the rest of the U.S.S. Enterprise is schedule to enter our galaxy next year but other than that, producer/director J.J. Abrams has been pretty tight lipped about 'Star Trek Into Darkness'. Fortunately Paramount Pictures just released the movie synopsis and it sounds pretty epic.
It is described as follows: 'When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis. That is some intense stuff right there! Sounds like we will be in for another action-packed, edge-of-your-seat kind of movie but the description still leaves one major question in the air: Who is the villain?
