It's hard to pick a few favourites out of 100 centuries, reckoned Wasim Jaffer.

On 24th April, the legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar celebrates his birthday and this year, it happened to be his 49th. Many former cricketers and cricket fans sent heartfelt wishes to Master Blaster on this occasion. Ahead of the fixture between Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2022, Nikhil Chopra and Wasim Jaffer shared their favourite knocks of Tendulkar.

Chopra recalled Tendulkar’s attitude in the dressing room after getting dismissed to Zimbabwe pacer Henry Olonga in the Coca Cola Cup 1998. He reckoned that after Tendulkar made his way back to the pavilion early, he practiced for around 40-45 minutes to perfect his skill to play the bouncer. Chopra further said Tendulkar’s innings in the final of the same tournament is his favorite, due to him smashing Olonga all over the park and remaining unbeaten on 124*.

“In 1998 Coca Cola Trophy, India faced Zimbabwe and the master was surprised by the bouncer from Henry Olonga and was dismissed. After coming to the dressing room, he kept practicing for 40-45 minutes to prepare himself for the short ball with plastic balls. We then again were up against Zimbabwe in the finals of the same tournament. Jaffer was vocal about his thoughts on the greatness of Tendulkar. He reckoned that it is quite hard to pick favourite among the list of 100 centuries of the legendary Indian cricketer. However, he picked Tendulkar’s 103 against England at Chennai in 2008, where he stitched a partnership of over 150 runs with Yuvraj Singh to win the match for the team.

He then mentioned two more innings, with the first one being 155* a.
