Australia vs England Test Series - Ashes 4th Test Match, Playing XIs & Stats Preview

The fourth Test of the 2021-22 Ashes is scheduled to get underway on Wednesday, January 5 at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Australia, captained by Pat Cummins, have looked thoroughly dominating as they are leading the series 3-0 after wins in Brisbane, Adelaide and Melbourne.

The hosts put their best foot forward in the Boxing Day Test at the MCG as they won the game by an innings and 14 runs. It took the Aussies only two days and a bit to thump the Three Lions. Having already lost the series, the Brits will be looking to salvage some pride and evade a series whitewash going forward.

Joe Root has already invited a lot of criticism for not being able to lead his team with precision. Root, however, is the leading run-scorer in the series amidst shoddy batting from the rest of his teammates. Ben Stokes was earlier reported to be a probable candidate to replace Root as England’s Test captain.

But the all-rounder has brushed off the speculations. Australia, on the contrary, haven’t done much wrong in the series. The hosts will be looking to kick off 2022 with another resounding showing. It’s pertinent to note that England have won 22 out of 56 Tests in Sydney with seven games ending in draws.

Australia have roped in Usman Khawaja in place of Travis Head, who is currently in isolating in Melbourne after testing positive for COVID-19. Khawaja hasn’t played a Test since the 2019 Ashes. Scott Boland has also retained his spot after becoming the Player of the Match in the MCG Test. Josh Hazlewood is yet to attain full fitness and hence, couldn’t make the cut for the Sydney Test.

Playing XI: Marcus Harris, David Warner, Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, Usman Khawaja, Cameron Green, Alex Carey (wk), Pat Cummins (c), Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon, Scott Boland

Stuart Broad is back to the England playing XI after Ollie Robinson had to miss out due to a shoulder niggle. The 35-year-old didn’t play the Brisbane and Melbourne Tests de.

Sri Lanka vs Australia - 4th ODI Match, Predicted Playing XIs & Stats Preview

Sri Lanka will take on Australia in the fourth match of the One-day series on Tuesday. Hosts Sri Lanka created history as they completed their highest successful chase in One day against Australia by chasing down 291 runs with 6 wickets left. Opener Pathum Nissanka was the architect of the win as he scored a well-crafted century and was supported brilliantly by Kusal Mendis. Australia would be looking to bounce back as they look to keep the series alive.

    Pitch Report:
There was a bit of help for the spinners in the previous match and expect the same this time around. Both teams will prefer batting first and put runs on the board and later defend it with slower bowlers.

T20 World Cup 2021 - Match 26, England vs Australia, Predicted Playing XIs & Stats Preview

England and Australia are set to lock horns in Match No.26 of the T20 World Cup on Saturday, October 30 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai. The Brits, led by Eoin Morgan, have had an outstanding campaign thus far with victories in both their Super 12 games of the event.

Moreover, a net run rate of 3.614 is a massive positive for them. The Aussies, on the other hand, must also be high on confidence. Aaron Finch’s men have defeated South Africa and Sri Lanka until now. But in order to beat the Three Lions, the Kangaroos need to bring their A-game to the fore.

Jason Roy has done exceptionally for England over the last six years or so. He has played quite a few knocks of substance at the top of the order. Roy got out cheaply in the game against the West Indies, but he made amends against Bangladesh. The right-hander stayed unbeaten on 61 off 38 with five fours and three sixes to take the Three Lions over the finishing line.

Adam Zampa has been exceptional for Australia in the T20 World Cup thus far. He has been one of the main reasons why the Aussies have won both their Super 12 matches until now. The tweaker has picked up four wickets from two matches at an excellent economy rate of 4.12. The England batters need to blend caution with aggression while facing him.
