The 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auctions will take place on 12th and 13th February 2022 in Bangalore. More than 1000 players have registered themselves for the auctions, and this list will be sent to all the franchises. As many as 49 players have registered their names in the highest bracket, which is INR 2 Crore.

According to a report, some of the major names that have done so are David Warner, Steve Smith, Mark Wood, Ravichandran Ashwin, Suresh Raina, Ishan Kishan, Adam Zampa, Quinton De Kock, Faf du Plessis, and Dwayne Bravo.

There were several reports doing the rounds that the President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Sourav Ganguly wanted to issue a show-cause notice to Virat Kohli. This is regarding Kohli’s comments about the captaincy of the Indian side in limited-overs cricket, where he had made it clear that there was no proper communication between him and the BCCI.

Ganguly has now cleared the air and said that the reports of him wanting to issue a show-cause notice to the 33-year-old Kohli are not true. “Reports of me wanting to issue a show-cause notice to Virat Kohli are not true,” said Ganguly.

Team India suffered a seven-wicket defeat to South Africa in the second ODI at Boland Park in Paarl on Friday. With this loss, they also lost the series with one match to go. While the batters helped the visitors in posting a competitive total on the board, the bowlers couldn’t contain the run-flow and South Africa made light work of the chase with some vital partnerships.

Meanwhile, former South African spinner Imran Tahir reckons that it is the ‘overconfidence’ that let the Indian team down in the One Day International series. He felt that the KL Rahul-led side misjudged the home team and this is where they lost the series.
