Halle Berry's ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry, the father of her child, has been arrested and booked on suspicion of battery after getting into a physical altercation with the Oscar-winning actress' fiance, Olivier Martinez.
he incident occurred on Thursday morning -- Thanksgiving Day -- as Aubry was dropping his and Berry's 4-year-old daughter Nahla at the actress' Beverly Hills home to celebrate the holiday, the Los Angeles Police Department told People magazine.
The child did not witness the fight, a source close to the matter told KABC Television, OTRC.com's parent company, adding that Berry saw the beginning of it and rushed to call 911, reporting an assault with a deadly weapon. It is unclear if any were found.
Aubry was placed under citizen's arrest and taken to a nearby hospital. Hours later, in the afternoon, he was transported to a police station in downtown Los Angeles and booked formally for misdemeanor battery, police sources told KABC, adding that bail was set at $20,000.
The police sources said that it appears Aubry started the fight and that Martinez 'apparently gave back more than Gabriel dished out.'
