അനിഷ്ട സംഭവങ്ങൾ ആവർത്തിക്കാതിരിക്കാൻ വലിയ നടപ്പന്തലും താഴെതിരുമുറ്റവും നിയന്ത്രണത്തിലാക്കി പോലീസ്. ദർശനത്തിന് എത്തുന്നവരെ പോലീസ് ഇവിടെ വിശ്രമിക്കാൻ അനുവദിക്കുന്നില്ല.രണ്ടിടത്തും കനത്ത കാവലാണ് ഏർപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടുള്ളത്. ഇതുമൂലം ഞായറാഴ്ച ഉച്ചയ്ക്ക് നടയടച്ച സമയം വലിയ നടപ്പന്തൽ വിജനമായിരുന്നു. തീർഥാടകരെ നടപ്പന്തലിന്റെ പ്രവേശന കവാടത്തിൽത്തന്നെ പോലീസ് തടഞ്ഞു. നടതുറക്കുന്നതിന് മുമ്പാണ് ഇവരെ നടപ്പന്തലിലേക്ക് കയറ്റിവിട്ടത്.
പ്രതിഷേധത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി നേരത്തേ നാമജപം നടന്ന താഴെതിരുമുറ്റത്ത് ആരെയും തങ്ങാൻ അനുവദിക്കുന്നില്ല.
ഉച്ചയ്ക്ക് നട തുറക്കുന്നത് വരെയുള്ള രണ്ടുമണിക്കൂർ ഇവിടെ വിജനമായിരുന്നു. ശബരിമലയിലെ പ്രധാനപ്പെട്ട ഈ രണ്ടു സ്ഥലങ്ങളെയും പ്രതിഷേധക്കാരിൽനിന്ന്‌ സംരക്ഷിക്കുക എന്നതാണ് പോലീസിന്റെ തന്ത്രം. നിയന്ത്രണം നീക്കണമെന്ന് ദേവസ്വംബോർഡ് ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിലും വലിയ നടപ്പന്തലിലും താഴെ തിരുമുറ്റത്തും ഒരു വിട്ടുവീഴ്ചയ്ക്കും പോലീസ് തയ്യാറാവുന്നില്ല.
പമ്പമുതൽ പോലീസിന്റെ നിയന്ത്രണമുണ്ടെങ്കിലും മരക്കൂട്ടത്തുനിന്നാണ് നിയന്ത്രണം കൃത്യമായി നടപ്പാക്കുന്നത്. ഇവിടെനിന്ന് സന്നിധാനത്തേക്ക് നിശ്ചിതയെണ്ണം തീർഥാടകരെമാത്രമേ കയറ്റിവിടുന്നുള്ളൂ. സുരക്ഷാ വീഴ്ച ഉണ്ടാവാതിരിക്കാൻ പോലീസിന് കർശന നിർദേശമാണ് നൽകിയിട്ടുള്ളത്.
