JAMMU LINKS NEWS | A 35-year-old pregnant woman died allegedly due to medical negligence while going through labour pain at a hospital in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir today, prompting authorities to order a magisterial inquiry, officials said.
Shaista Begum, a resident of Binola Amritgarh Chiralla village, was brought to district hospital Doda last evening and died this morning, triggering protests by her relatives who accused the doctors and paramedical staff of negligence, the officials said.
Begum's husband Imtiaz Ahmad Khan alleged that she was left unattended in the labour room after initial treatment, resulting in the death of the woman and the unborn child.
He alleged that the doctors and the nurses posted in the labour room preferred to sleep despite repeated pleas from the family members that the condition of the patient had deteriorated.
District Development Commissioner, Doda, Simrandeep Singh said a magisterial inquiry has been ordered into the death of the woman.
'A magisterial inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the facts. The family also highlighted that they were forced to move to the district hospital as their local sub-centre at Binola in GThathri block was closed for several days,' Singh told PTI.

स्योहारा के मिल चैराहे पर स्थित जयवती देवी हैल्थ केयर सैंटर पर उस समय हंगामे की स्थिति बन गई जब वहां ऑपरेशन कराने आई एक महिला की उपचार के दौरान मौत हो गई। जिसके बाद मृतका के परिजनों ने चिकित्सक पर लापरवाही का आरोप लगाते हुए जमकर हंगामा किया।
जानकारी के अनुसार शिवाला कलां थाना क्षेत्र के गांव जुजेना निवासी महिला बेबी पत्नी धर्म सिंह का दो दिन पूर्व जयवती देवी हैल्थ केयर सैंटर पर दो दिन पूर्व पित्त का ऑपरेशन हुआ था। आॅपरेशन के दो दिन बाद महिला की अचानक हालत बिगड़ गई और उसकी मौत हो गई। महिला की मौत के बाद परिजनों ने चिकित्सक पर लापरवाही का आरोप लगाते हुए जमकर हंगामा गया। इस बीच मृतक महिला का पति उसके शव को अपने घर ले गया जबकि मृतका के परिजन थाने में डटे रहे लेकिन उन्होंने पुलिस को कोई तहरीर नही दी।
इस तरह के झोलाझाप चिकित्सकों की वजह से आए दिन भोले-भाले लोग अपनी जिंदगी गंवा बैठते हैं। इसमें सबसे अहम बात यह है कि जब मीडिया द्वारा इसका प्रकाशन किया जाता है तो झोलाझाप चिकित्सक कुछ सत्ताधारी लोगों के साथ मिलकर मीडियाकर्मियों को ब्लैकमेल करते हैं और उनपर झूठे आरोप लगाकर उनके नाम एफ.आई.आर. तक करा देते हैं।
