Spiti Valley in Winter is one of the things that could not be missed and can also be seen on the top of every traveler’s bucket list. During the past two decades, Spiti has risen from a land separating Tibet and Himachal Pradesh to a major tourist attraction.
Spiti Valley is famous for majorly three things which are its natural beauty, the Monastries, and wonderful people and their culture residing in nearby villages. The Chorten at Tabo monastery in Spiti valley is the famous big white and golden structure you get to see in every Spiti valley youtube video.
The best time to visit Spiti valley during winters is from March to May starting, as the roads are open and most of the places are accessible. During this period of time, the weather in Spiti is favorable for travelers and one can have a full-fledged experience of Spiti Valley.
The highest point for Spiti Valley lies at 12,500 feet above the sea level but most tourists prefer to take a ropeway from Kibber to Chichum in order to enjoy the view from the top.
There are several ways of traveling through the Spiti Valley and the popular ones include a bike trip, a road trip to Spiti by your own vehicle and even hitchhiking if you’re that type of traveler.
There are two ways to reach Spiti Valley and they are either via Manali or Shimla route regardless of where you’re coming from.
But the route from Shimla is preferred by most even though it is the longer one, due to many factors such as it has a better nature’s view along the road. Most travelers also prefer to visit Delhi first and then go out to reach Spiti Valley from Delhi.

Spiti Valley is a cold desert mountain valley located high in the Himalayas in the north-eastern part of the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. The name 'Spiti' means 'The Middle Land', i.e. the land between Tibet and India.[1]
Local population follow Vajrayana Buddhism similar to that found in the nearby Tibet and Ladakh regions. The valley and surrounding region is one of the least populated regions in India and is the gateway to the northernmost reaches of the nation. Along the northern route from Manali, Himachal Pradesh or Keylong via the Rohtang Pass or Kunzum Pass respectively, the valley lies in the North Eastern section of the Indian state Himachal Pradesh, and forms part of the Lahaul and Spiti district. The sub-divisional headquarters (capital) is Kaza, Himachal Pradesh[2] which is situated along the Spiti River at an elevation of about 12,500 feet (3,800 m) above mean sea level.
