गोवा के मुख्यमंत्री प्रमोद सावंत ने कहा है की यूनिफार्म सिविल कोड लागू करने वाला सबसे पहला राज्य है गोवा और मुझे इस बात का गर्व है। यहां कभी अल्पसंख्यक समुदाय ने इस पर आपत्ति नहीं उठाई है। यूनिफार्म सिविल कोड देश में कबसे लागू किया जा सकता है यह केंद्र सरकार पर निर्भर है। इससे महिला सशक्तिकरण होगा। कांग्रेस पार्टी सहित दूसरे विपक्षी दल इस मुद्दे पर बेवजह राजनिति कर रहे हैं।
