Disney, for instance, filed a patent in July 2021 to use blockchain to manage and track the ownership of physical objects such as toys, pins, collectible figurines, trading cards and their digital counterparts in the form of NFT. The owner of the NFT can perform various modifications to the digital copy or even at their discretion sell or trade the digital copy to another user.
The analysts report, while the patents filing trend in the NFT space is continuing for a while now, things get more interesting on the use of NFTs to represent patents which can bring transparency and liquidity to the global IP market that is often challenged by a huge gap between patent filings and commercialization. The lack of standardization in managing and evaluating assets limits IP transactions globally, making it difficult for most patents to be commercialized by licensees. According to IP specialist IPwe, $1 trillion in IP is never transacted. What is more, the lack of transparency in patent ownership and details adds to the bottlenecks in their commercialization. NFTs can aid in better patent commercialization when one owns the patent as an NFT, given their blockchain-powered properties of immutability.

NFTs are now spotted with Fakes as Demand Soars | NFTs | VARINDIA News Hour
We have already entered into the new age of technologies including Blockchain, DeFi, Crypto, NFTs and the Metaverse. Sales of NFTs, or non-fungible tokens, soared to around $25 billion in 2021, leaving many baffled as to why so much money is being spent on items that do not physically exist and which anyone can view online for free. NFT technology is helping to make art profitable again, but plagiarism and fakes are “becoming a massive issue” for both artists and buyers, warns a world-famous British artist who has crossed over into the digital space. NFTs are crypto assets that record the ownership of a digital file such as an image, video or text. Anyone can create, or 'mint', an NFT, and ownership of the token does not usually confer ownership of the underlying item. Plagiarism and fraud have been an issue since NFTs exploded in early 2021, but something shifted last fall. The explosion appeared to be from bots scraping artists’ online galleries, or even keyword searches on Google Images, and then creating collections with auto-generated texts. Those listings have proliferated on OpenSea.
It has come as evidence that there are a record number of fake NFTs in the marketplace. An NFT is a digital asset that can be an image, audio clip, or GIF and whose ownership is recorded on a tamper-proof digital ledger known as a blockchain. “NFTs are the future of art, without question. We’re increasingly living digital lives and NFTs allow us to take the images we love into this world – with an even further enhanced experience for the buyer. It’s the inevitable way forward. Over the last year, the NFTs market has exploded, with a digital-only piece of art selling for $69 million in 2021. Since then, an ever-growing number of artists and celebrities, fashion, music, tech and sports brands have been creating, buying and selling ‘tokens.’ This is attributable to two main reaso

Web 3.0, also known as the decentralized web or the semantic web, is expected to transform many aspects of the internet and how we interact with it. It may surprise you, that putting content creation in the hands of the creators and not platform owners can help to improve transparency and trust between businesses and their customers by creating a tamper-proof record of transactions on a blockchain.
With a real-time view of the supply chain, customers can see where their products are at each stage of the production process. It is possible with the augmentation of Artificial intelligence, blockchain, and the Internet of Things (IoT) will be integrated to create a more intelligent, decentralised, and secure web.
Web 3.0 could bring disruption to the e-commerce industry, as the users will have more control over their data, and transactions will be faster and more secure. It could significantly impact how businesses interact with their customers, transforming online retail functions. With the global Web 3.0 market poised to grow from $6.8 billion in 2020 to $48.3 billion by 2025, its greater involvement in online retail operations is imperative.

The NFT Marketplace has exploded into the mainstream recently. This is because of incredible blockchain technology that promises to remake the internet and redefine how people think about ownership. The fact is NFT has the technology that existed then can seamlessly and flawlessly track authenticity and provenance in a decentralized, tamperproof manner. All this talk about Web3 can be a little disconcerting. After all, most of us are still adjusting to the new socio-political reality that social media created, so the thought of a new version of the internet can be overwhelming. Whereas, the NFTs shift, made the crypto paradigm by making each token unique and irreplaceable and thereby making it impossible for one non-fungible token to be equal to another. This is because they are digital representations of assets and have been likened to digital passports because each token contains a unique and non-transferable identity to distinguish it from other tokens. The world of crypto-bros and digital creators is no longer limited to non-fungible tokens. Luxury brands are also joining the fray by 2022. Taking advantage of the value that NFT ownership provides as well as the technological innovation they offer, a growing number of brands are partnering with market-places, crypto-artists, and other NFT-experts.
Web3 is a world-changing opportunity to make a better version of the internet and wrest it away from the behemoths who control it today. Web3 will make some people a lot of money. But many other people will lose their shirts. At the same time, NFTs are valued by market demand, and their individuality often drives this value higher. It’s the same principle the luxury industry uses, such as Hermès’ limited edition Birkin bags that drive a frenzy about obtaining them. So much buzz is being generated around their potential explosive combination partly because NFTs and luxury goods are both based on scarcity. It is also worth exploring whether NFTs can help r

Essentially, #NFTs can represent any form of digital file, whether that's a jpeg of a piece of art, a video, or even real estate. Turning these files into 'tokens' and securing them on a blockchain make buying, selling and trading these files efficient and reduce fraud.
An NFT is a unique digital code stored on a blockchain, a form of distributed or digital ledger. In simpler terms, the NFTs are digital representations of ownership that are recorded on a blockchain. An NFT could be representing a digital or physical asset which has value. As the markets for NFTs continue to grow, we’re going to see the creation of more platforms to showcase them and manage transactions.
As per market data tracker #DappRadar data analytics, the sales of NFTs reached $25 billion in 2021 backed by the crypto asset surge and rising interest of celebrities and tech evangelists across the world. Considering India's digital growth story, the country is well positioned to become the front runner in the NFT space. At present, there are about 11 NFT companies headquartered in India, after the United States, and Singapore.
India is a powerhouse of creativity, rising talent, and young population. The NFTs provide immense opportunity to utilise this potential, and simultaneously the much-needed reach for artists/ originators to digitally showcase their work to a much larger audience.
Both the NFTs and cryptocurrencies are built on blockchain technology, and while cryptocurrency is fungible wherein one bitcoin is the same as any other bitcoin (like the cash in a wallet), the NFTs are ‘non-fungible’ and one piece cannot be exchanged for another.
Web3 is expected to be the biggest technology transformation of the Internet over the next decade. This will be a major employment generation opportunity for the Indian software, digital and allied sectors. The NFTs will be the commerce backbone of Web3, and it

Ethereum, the world's second largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization has recently witnessed a significant spike in buying activity from 'smart money' wallets. These wallets, known for their exceptional trading performance, have even demonstrated a remarkable 90% win rate, making nearly every trade they execute highly profitable.
It is possible that the number of traders in the NFT marketplaces has grown significantly over the past year, as more people become interested in NFTs as a new investment opportunity. NFTs have been used to represent virtual real estate, gaming assets, and even social media posts. This has led to an increasing interest in NFTs among a wider audience, including investors, collectors, gamers, and creators.
NFTs are unique digital assets that are indivisible and cannot be exchanged for an equal amount of another asset. They can represent anything from art and music to virtual real estate and other forms of collectibles. Ethereum has emerged as the go-to platform for creating and trading NFTs due to its smart contract capabilities and ability to create complex digital assets.
