With hybrid work, it has become more difficult to protect employees’ time, as there are fewer physical interactions, and managers can’t monitor working hours as easily as they could when people are in the office. Overwork and burnout are real dangers, so companies must find a way to address these potential problems before they start to lose staff.
The report highlights, Globally, over 59% of organizations believe that if they don’t address their hybrid work processes and plans, they’ll lose staff and will be unable to attract new talent; 74% of Indian employers agree with this trend. Strategy and equality for hybrid workers are areas of concern: Less than half, 48%, of all organizations globally and in the APAC region are fully prepared for hybrid working, while 37% of global companies are prepared only in the short term. In India, the statistics are slightly higher than the worldwide average, with close to 63% of Indian employers responding that they are fully prepared for hybrid work. Productivity has increased since the shift to hybrid work: 72% of the companies that were surveyed globally saw an increase in productivity due to the .

The attitudes of both employees and employers towards hybrid working - a style of working that allows for a more balanced home-office work pattern - have fundamentally changed due to the pandemic, according to GlobalData. The leading data and analytics company notes that this is good news for tech companies producing collaboration and communication (C&C) services such as Zoom that have seen a boost from remote working over the pandemic. C&C tech acted as a life vest for businesses forced to move to remote working. Their use will only continue as these enterprises step into the future of hybrid working. Companies have growing commitments to environmental, social and governance (ESG) goals, which means they have to demonstrate the benefits to society and address customers’ environmental concerns – all enabled by C&C services.
Over time, the market is bound to consolidate – as evidenced by Zoom’s agreed deal to buy Five9 for around $14.7bn. The generally accepted ‘marketing rule of three’ indicates that as individual markets mature, they tend to be dominated by three dominant players, so the battle has started to gain a place at the top table. Experts predict that “Zoom’s deal is just the start of what will be an onslaught of C&C mergers and acquisitions.”Another key trend is the migration from upfront investment-heavy, on-premises products to pay-as-you-go-based cloud solutions, often from new competitors such as Facebook and Google. Facebook’s ‘Workplace’ now has over seven million paying business customers, while Google’s ‘Workspace’ is being actively marketed as a solution for hybrid meetings.

A report from #Linkedin on State of Sales APAC 2022 says that the rising #remotework culture has accelerated the proliferation of sales technology. The pandemic disrupted the sales process permanently and positively, with 81% of buyers in India agreeing that working remotely is making buying easier.
There is a continued rise of sales technology and data-driven selling. In today’s predominantly digital era, 4 in 5 (81%) buyers in India feel that remote work has made buying easier today. Sellers too have felt this pull, with every 1 in 5 (22%) clocking deals worth $500,000 or above without ever meeting the buyer in-person.
With the number of sales professionals without any remote work experience dropping to one-fourth during the pandemic, it is evident that remote working is here to stay. Top performers are thriving due to their intelligent use of technology and data-driven selling.
The survey indicates younger sales professionals are placing a higher emphasis on soft skills, so they can develop closer relationships with their buyers or clients and close better deals. The survey also reveals that the ability to build trust is the most important factor for closing deals among younger (under 35 years) sales professionals (21%), as compared to older (over 35 years) professionals who prioritise metrics like ROI (16%) and price (17%).
Companies are increasing their appetite for data-based insights to better gauge buyer intent and drive greater sales. This is especially true amidst the ongoing Great Reshuffle when buyers and sellers are constantly considering shifting roles. In fact, more than 8 in 10 (84%) sales professionals in India have lost at least one deal to an important decision maker changing roles in the past year alone.

The Choice of location and flexible working hours are the top enablers for productivity in the hybrid work landscape, with nearly five in ten Indian hybrid workers considering themselves more productive when working remotely, as per the survey of Gartner. Indian workers’ use of technology has accelerated since the onset of the global pandemic in 2020. Improved digital dexterity, willingness to use real-time mobile messaging and virtual meeting solutions, along with scheduled flexibility, led to employees experiencing an uptick in their overall productivity while working from home. Indian workers reported that they gained more productivity working remotely and not dealing with pronounced traffic conditions which could span three to four hours each way. More than 40% of surveyed workers in the U.K., France and Germany indicated their productivity stayed the same, while more than 30% of Australian workers said they were more or much more productive working from home. The survey showed that Indian workers use real-time mobile messaging daily.
Of those surveyed, 83% Indian digital workers confirmed that they use real-time mobile messaging to conduct most work activities and prefer this tool over other virtual communication tools available when working remotely. Digital workplace technologies replaced in-person conversations, co-authoring content with co-workers in real-time and offline file transfers in 2020. These digital workplace technologies have now emerged as the core components of the “new work hub” which represents an evergreen collection of cloud-based, personal and team productivity technologies. At the same time, Globally, 60% of workers said they use messaging tools daily, including 50% using collaboration and storage/sharing tools daily.
