It's not the first time Fox acted to amend an adolescent mistake. When she was 20 she removed the belly button piercing she got to imitate Britney Spears.
Other tattoos she could erase include a quote on her ribcage and a tribal tattoo on her wrist, but Fox says the laser removal is really painful. At least she's got a high pain tolerance!.

Megan blames it on the fact that she gave the interview in English, then it was translated to French and back to English again. The mag confessed to the translation error and printed a retraction and Megan has gone on Facebook to thank them.
