ऐतिहासिक महाकाल मंदिर में इस बार भाद्रपद के पांच शनिवार के मेले होंगे । 19 अगस्त से आरंभ होने वाले मेलों के आयोजन को लेकर महाकाल मंदिर में ट्रस्ट की बैठक मंदिर सह आयुक्त एवं एसडीएम बैजनाथ देवी सिंह ठाकुर की अध्यक्षता में हुई। बैठक में मंदिर में सजावट के लिए और रंग रोगन करवाने व श्रद्धालुओं के लिए पीने का पानी की व्यवस्था पर विचार विमर्श किया गया। इस मौके पर संबंधित विभागों के अधिकारियों को अलग-अलग दायित्व सौंप दिए गए मंदिर सह आयुक्त देवी सिंह ठाकुर ने बताया कि इस मौके पर मंदिर में पानी के रिसाव को रोकने वाले एवं शौचालय की सही व्यवस्था करने पर विचार किया गया। साथ में मेलों के दौरान दुकानों के आवंटन, बिजली पानी सड़क की व्यवस्था एवं मेलों के दौरान यातायात व्यवस्था को सुचारू रूप से करने के लिए पुलिस विभाग को निर्देश दिए गए। साथ में मंदिर के अंदर प्रसाद बांटने की जिम्मेवारी ट्रस्ट के सदस्यों को सौंपी गई।
