A US man accused of shooting dead his wife and posting a picture of her corpse on Facebook once wrote a series of self-help books, it emerged today.
Derek Medina, 31, is being quizzed by police over the death of his wife Jennifer Alfonso, 26, who was gunned down at their Florida home yesterday.
Medina appeared to confess to the murder by posting a gruesome image of a woman's blood-soaked body slumped on the floor with the caption 'RIP Jennifer Alfonso'.
Shortly before the photograph was uploaded, Medina updated his status saying: 'I'm going to prison or death sentence for killing my wife.
'Love you guys miss you guys take care Facebook people you will see me in the news.
'My wife was punching me and I am not going to stand anymore with the abuse so I did what I did I hope u understand me.'
Following his arrest, it emerged that Medina had penned a number of self-help e-books, including one entitled: 'How I Saved Someone's Life and Marriage and Family Problems Thru Communication.'
According to the Miami New Times blog, Medina maintains a website called EmotionalWriter.com.

A Miami man who reportedly posted a photo of his wife's body on Facebook after killing her turned himself in to authorities on Thursday and confessed to the slaying, police said.
Derek Medina, 31, said he fatally shot his wife, Jennifer Alonso, Miami-Dade police said in a statement. Officers discovered the woman's body when they went to their home.
A 10-year-old girl on the property was found unharmed, police said.
A Facebook page with the name Derek Medina showed a picture of a woman identified as Alonso with her arm and face covered in blood and lying on the floor.
Police would not confirm whether the Facebook page belonged to Medina, and the page was later taken down.
A message posted on the page under Medina's name read, 'My wife was punching me and I'm not going to stand anymore with the abuse so I did what I did. Hope you understand me.'
'I'm going to prison or death sentence for killing my wife,' it said.
Police said Medina has not yet been charged while their investigation continues.

The woman's left arm is covered in blood and her face also reportedly appears to have blood on it.
According to marriage records obtained by the station, Medina and Alfonso had been married since April 2012.

A grisly murder scene in South Miami has ended up on Facebook after the alleged killer posted a picture to the social networking site.
Derek Medina, 31, of South Miami posted a picture of his dead wife around three hours ago on a Facebook page attributed to him. Police found the woman's body in the townhouse at 5555 SW 67 Avenue.
There was a 10-year-old girl at the home, authorities say, but she was not hurt.
CBS4 has confirmed the identity of Medina with South Miami Police Sgt. Rene Landa.
The picture, which CBS4 and CBSMiami.com have chosen not to show, shows a woman identified in the post as Jennifer Alfonso, bent over backwards at the knees with her head in the corner of what appears to be a kitchen.
The woman's left arm is covered in blood and blood appears on her face as well.
Alonso was married to Medina.
The Facebook page also had an alleged confession from Medina on the site that read as follows:
