'We are not sure where this rumor started, but we would like to put a stop to it immediately,” his rep for the 'Dancing With the Stars' alum tells JustJared.com. 'This is a very serious disease and he's upset that someone would make light of such a serious subject. He has been affected personally from the disease as he has had family members who have passed away from cancer.'.

'I want to say first, 'I do not have cancer,' and I don't know where this inconsiderate and insensitive rumor originated from,' he said. ''My team and I are making every attempt to find out the original source of this story because it's just not cool.'
He noted that the rumor is badly timed.
'This hoax is just plain classless! Especially in light of the various tragedies happening this weekend and the Trayvon Martin verdict.'

I want to say first, 'I do not have cancer,' and I don't know where this inconsiderate and insensitive rumor originated from. Cancer is a disease that is very personal to me and my family. I have had 2 uncles and a very dear friend who passed away in the last two years from cancer and my Granddad currently has prostate cancer and my Grandmother is currently in a nursing home because of Alzheimer's Disease...So, making light of any illnesses that a person has no control over getting is not something to joke about or make light of!

On Saturday and Sunday, they reached a crescendo, with multiple tweets going out from dozens if not hundreds of people that said something like: “Zimmerman is free, Cory Monteith is dead, Kyle Massey has cancer, Casey Anthony is pregnant. On a scale of 1-10 how done are you with this day?'
What really burns my toast is that when Kyle Massey posted his recent Instagram photo of his ascent some 14,000 feet up Mount Kilimanjaro, there were people who took the opportunity to spread the Kyle Massey cancer rumor there — instead of congratulating him on his remarkable achievement.
Apparently, it’s somebody’s idea of fun to spread rumors that a healthy 21-year-old man has cancer. I even saw a variation Tweet that it was brain cancer.
C’mon, people. It isn’t cool to just make stuff up out of your elbow.
On Sunday, Kyle Massey’s rep came forward to address the cancer rumors. Here’s the statement published in ET Online:

Even though the Facebook page stated clearly in the description, 'He's still alive and well, stop believing what you see on the Internet,' many took the page that was named 'R.I.P. Morgan Freeman' as truth and spread the rumor.
It's easy, however, to see why many believed the page despite the disclaimer, considering the 'About' section on the Facebook fan page said this:
'At about 5 p.m. ET on Thursday, our beloved actor Morgan Freeman passed away due to a artery rupture. Morgan was born on June 1, 1937. He will be missed but not forgotten. Please show your sympathy and condolences by commenting on and liking this page.'
The page has more than 800,000 'likes.'

Fiscal cliff negotiations between House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) reportedly got heated last Friday.
According to Politico, several sources claimed to have overheard a verbal altercation between the two men in the White House lobby.

The encounter occurred soon after Reid took to the Senate floor and argued that Boehner could have ended the fiscal cliff standoff by bringing up legislation passed by the Senate for a vote. Reid also accused Boehner of catering to members of his party rather than serving the country.
'The American people I don't think understand the House of Representatives is operating without the House of Representatives,' Reid said. 'It's being operated by a dictatorship of the speaker, not allowing the vast majority of the House of Representatives to get what they want.'
