Google on Thursday remembered Achille-Claude Debussy, a French composer of impressionist music, with an animated doodle on his 151st birthday.
Born on August 22, 1862, Claude Debussy's love for music was evident from his childhood.
Debussy started taking piano lessons at seven. At the age of ten, he entered the Paris Conservatoire, a college of music and dance. Here Debussy spent 11 years studying music composition and playing instuments with some of the best musicians and composers of his time. Claude Debussy was also experimental and argumentative.
Debussy is remembered because of his unique style and has received scholarships for his composition.
His works grasped the morbid romanticism of the Symbolist movement.
Prominent and creative composer Rudolph Reti, a music analyst, pianist and composer, termed Debussy's music as 'a new concept of tonality in European music'.
Claude Debussy's compositions include orchestral, ballet, soloist and orchestra, chamber, solo piano and much more.
Google has dedicated an animated doodle to honour him. The doodle features a moonlight riverside scene with flashing streets lights. In the doodle, human figures are seen rowing boats, cycling and driving cars.
As the scene progresses Debussy's most popular piece, Clair de Lune plays in the background. The music ends with two people meeting.

Today’s Google Doodle is special. The musical doodle highlights French musician Claude Debussy’s famous composition ‘Claire de lune’. The romantic composition with Debussy’s music is one of the best Doodles created by Google in recent times.
The animated Doodle paints a quaint river-side scene in the moonlight with the act progressing through cities and finally culminating in a tender, romantic moment. Debussy’s Claire de lune tune plays in the background as the scene is progressing. Lights in the houses and street-lights flicker on and off in the doodle giving an illusion of a passing night. The clouds move around playing with the full moon.
The river-side is lined by a road and as ships pass the river, there are cyclists and motor-men moving on the road. The scene incorporates elements like smoke rising from chimneys and flickering lights to match the strings of the piano. The ships finally give way to two people rowing boats. As they near each other, it begins to rain. While the first boatman looks around helplessly, the second catches up and opens a read umbrella, sheltering them both.
The red umbrella is the only spot of colour in the entire doodle (apart from the initial balloons) which is set in the dark. ‘Claire de lune’ in French, meaning the ‘The Bright Moon’, is set in the night with only the moonlight and the occasional street-light flicker showing the proceedings.
Claire de lune is one of Claude Debussy’s earlier co

Today's Google Doodle is a dedication to Hawaiian-American competition swimmer, Duke Kahanamoku. He was a five-time Olympic medalist in swimming.
He was also an actor, lawman, beach volleyball player, and businessman credited with spreading the sport of surfing.
Kahanamoku had qualified for the US Olympic swimming team in 1912. At the Summer Olympics in Stockholm that year, he won a gold medal in the 100-meter freestyle, and a silver medal in the men's 4x200-meter freestyle relay.
He finished the 100 meters with a silver medal during the 1924 Olympics in Paris. At age 34, this was Kahanamoku's last Olympic medal. He also was an alternate for the US water polo team at the 1932 Summer Olympics.
Between Olympic competitions, and after retiring from the Olympics, Kahanamoku traveled internationally to give swimming exhibitions. It was during this period that he popularized the sport of surfing, previously known only in Hawaii, by incorporating surfing exhibitions into these visits as well.
While living in Newport Beach, California on June 14, 1925, Kahanamoku had rescued eight men from a fishing vessel that had capsized in heavy surf while attempting to enter the city's harbor.
Kahanamoku's name is also used by Duke's Canoe Club & Barefoot Bar, a beachfront bar and restaurant in the Outrigger Waikiki On The Beach Hotel. There is a chain of restaurants named
