दिल्ली प्रदेश कांग्रेस कमेटी के अध्यक्ष श्री अजय माकन के नेतृत्व में हजारों कांग्रेस कार्यकर्ताओं सोनिया विहार सब्जी मंडी, नजदीक डिस्पेन्सरी से श्री राम चैक मंडावली तक कैंडल मार्च में भाग लिया, जिसके द्वारा आम आदमी पार्टी की दिल्ली सरकार और भाजपा की केन्द्र सरकार की प्रशासनिक विफलताओं को उजागर किया। जिसके कारण पूर्वी दिल्ली के मंडावली क्षेत्र में भूख के कारण तीन मासूम बहनों को जान गंवानी पड़ी।कैंडल मार्च आयोजित करने का उदेश्य यह है कि हम गरीबों की परेशानियों को उजागर करना चाहते है क्योंकि दिल्ली में आम आदमी पार्टी और केन्द्र में भाजपा के राज में या तो गरीब भूख से परेशान है या भूख के कारण मर रहा है और भविष्य में भूख के कारण किसी को भी जान न गंवानी पड़े।-
इस अवसर पर श्री अजय माकन ने कहा कि आम आदमी पार्टी की दिल्ली सरकार जो अपने आप को गरीबों की सरकार होने का दावा करती है तथा मोदी सरकार जो ‘‘बेटी बचाओ, बेटी पढ़ाओ’’ का खोखला नारा देकर अपनी पीठ थपथपाते है, ये दोनो सरकारें तीन बेटियों को नही बचा सकी।
श्री माकन ने कहा कि सबसे चैकाने देने वाली बात तो यह है कि यह हादसा दिल्ली के उप मुख्यमंत्री के विधानसभा क्षेत्र में उनके स्थानीय कार्यालय के नजदीक हुआ है और उनको इस परिवार की इस दयनीय स्थिति की खबर तक नही। श्री माकन ने कहा कि दिल्ली में कांग्रेस के 15 वर्षों के कार्यकाल में एक भी ऐसा हादसा नही हुआ था।
श्री माकन ने कहा कि दिल्ली की स्थिति बद् से बदतर होती जा रही है। उन्होंने कहा कि आम आदमी पार्टी की दिल्ली सरकार तथा भाजपा की केन्द्र सरकार को इन निर्दोष बेटियों की भूख के कारण होने वाली मृत्यु की जिम्मेदारी लेनी चाहिए।
