दिल्ली के शालीमार बाग़ में चल रहा यह आयोजन महज भजन संध्या नहीं है। यह आस फाउंडेशन का वार्षिक आयोजन 'चलो सुदामा द्वार' है। बेटी बचाओं बेटी पढ़ाओ मिशन को लेकर चल रही सामाजिक संस्था 'आस फाउंडेशन ' का यह आयोजन शालीमार बाग़ में अब किसी परिचय का मोहताज़ नहीं है है। यह मंच उन सक्षम समाजसेवियों का जो आज के सुदामा को मदद देने खुद सुदामा के पास पहुच रहे है। यूँ तो आस फाउंडेशन वर्ष भर गरीब और जरूरतमंद लोगों के कल्याण और जान जाग्रति अभियान में लगी रहती है लेकिन यह आयोजन कुछ ख़ास होता है। इस आयोजन में प्रतिभावान बच्चों को पुरुस्कृत कर प्रोत्साहित किया जा रहा है तो वहीँ उन लोगों को भी सम्मानित किया जा रहा है जो जनकल्याण के इस अभियान में ' आस फाउंडेशन ' साथी और सारथी बने हुए है। 12 फरवरी को हुए इस आयोजन बड़ी तादाद में बड़े बड़े नेताओं से लेकर सामाज सेवी , उद्योगपति , बड़े बड़े प्रशासनिक अधिकारी भी पहुचे। दिल्ली पुलिस संयुक्त आयुक्त संजय सिंह और नार्थ वेस्ट जिला पुलिस आयुक्त मिलिंद महादेवो ने भी खास तौर से मौजूद रहे और आस के इस आयोजन की जमकर तारीफ़ की।
' आस फांडेशन ' के इस आयोजन में भक्ति और भजन संध्या का भी विशेष आकर्षण था। यहाँ पहुचे तमाम लोगों ने मशहूर भजन गायक चित्र -विचित्र भजनो का भी जमकर आनंद लिया। 'आस फाउंडेशन ' की संस्थापक और अध्यक्ष रेखा गुप्ता स्थानीय निगम पार्षद भी है। अपने इलाके के गरीब लोगों और जरूरतमंद लोगों की मदद के लिए स्थानीय निगम पार्षद रेखा गुप्ता की पहचान के तेज़ तरार बीजेपी नेता की ही नहीं है बल्कि 'आस फाउंडेशन ' ने रेखा गुप्ता को सामाजिक क्षेत्रों में भी पहचान दी है।

Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao (translation: Save girl child, educate a girl child) is a personal campaign of the Government of India that aims to generate awareness and improve the efficiency of welfare services intended for girls. The scheme was launched with an initial funding of ₹100 crore (US$14 million). It mainly targets the clusters in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Bihar and Delhi.
According to census data, the child gender ratio (0–6 years) in India was 927 girls per 1,000 boys in 2001, which dropped to 918 girls for every 1,000 boys in 2011. A 2012 UNICEF report ranked India 41st among 195 countries. In the Population Census of 2011 it was revealed that the population ratio of India 2011 is 943 females per 1000 of males. The Sex Ratio 2011 shows an upward trend from the census 2001 data.
Speaking on the occasion of [International Day of the Girl Child] in 2015, the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi had called for the eradication of female foeticide and invited suggestions from the citizens of India via the MyGov.in portal.
