Morgan Freeman will not be the voice of the 50 Shades of Grey audiobooks, reports E! Online. Freeman has been the victim of some strange rumours of late, and this is the latest to be quashed.
Whoever decided to claim Morgan Freeman died in 2012 fooled 66,000 people on Facebook, and numerous others that believed the Shawshank Redemption actors fake death. 'Morgan is alive and well, and joins the long list of actors who have been victimized by this hoax,' a rep for Freeman explained. Now that that’s cleared up, it’s time to set the record straight regarding the Fifty Shades rumours: they’re false, again. The audio excerpts from the YouTube clip that first perpetrated the lies are actually the work of actor-comedian Josh Robert Thompson, who's celebrity impressions include Matthew Mcconaughey, Robert De Niro and, of course, Morgan Freeman.
Freeman is not the first celebrity to be subject to attention seeking death-rumours; Chris Brown, Paul Mccartney, Eddie Murphy, Celine Dion and Justin Bieber have all been victim to Internet tales surrounding their faux deaths. Those who instantly believed the rumours surrounding Freeman, though, should possibly have read the Facebook’s about page, which stated that he wasn’t in fact dead, and heeded caution about believing everything you read on the Internet. You’ll have read this on the Internet, and it’s true, we promise.

The Internet's wave of celebrity death hoaxes rolls on, with Morgan Freeman, a frequent target, again attacked by the grave trend.
Though rumors of Freeman's demise were put to rest almost as quickly as they were fabricated, Freeman's representatives confirmed that he was doing just fine.
On Sunday Freeman's reps officially confirmed to E! Online that the 'Through the Wormhole' host is not dead.

Fans of beloved actor Morgan Freeman are enraged about continued rumors regarding the 75-year-old actor's death.
Representatives for Freeman have confirmed he is alive and well, but a Facebook page called 'R.I.P. Morgan Freeman' has drawn 866,000 likes as online hoaxers continue to perpetuate rumors of his demise.
Some fans have suggested jail time or banishment from social networks as punishment for the anonymous sources who continue to report Freeman is dead.
Death hoaxes that spread through social media can be emotionally damaging for either the celebrity involved or that person's fans, according to Dr. Pamela Brown Rutledge, who spoke to Gather.com.
'While a hoax may strike some as funny, and there are undoubtedly some instances of funny ones that we might commonly refer to as 'practical jokes,' most hoaxes are designed to promote the psychological or commercial interests of the perpetrator at the expense of the victims,' she said.
A spokesman for Freeman addressed the rumors over the weekend to ease the minds of worried fans.
'Morgan is alive and well and joins the long list of actors who have been victimized by this hoax. He's still alive and well, stop believing what you see on the Internet,' Freeman's rep said in a statement.

The Morgan Freeman dead rumor started late last week when a Facebook page that garnered tens of thousands likes suggested that the 75-year-old actor had died.
Even though the Facebook page stated clearly in the description, 'He's still alive and well, stop believing what you see on the Internet,' many took the page that was named 'R.I.P. Morgan Freeman' as truth and spread the rumor.
It's easy, however, to see why many believed the page despite the disclaimer, considering the 'About' section on the Facebook fan page said this:
'At about 5 p.m. ET on Thursday, our beloved actor Morgan Freeman passed away due to a artery rupture. Morgan was born on June 1, 1937. He will be missed but not forgotten. Please show your sympathy and condolences by commenting on and liking this page.'
The page has more than 800,000 'likes.'
